Foremost international techno outlet Drumcode is delighted to announce the release of its next full-length album, ‘Satellite’, by enduring Italian techno talent Sam Paganini.

Though he has been active since the mid nineties, recent years have been hugely successful for Sam, with searing techno EPs coming on revered labels such as Riche Hawtin’s Plus8, Sven Vath’s Cocoon and of course, Adam Beyer’s Drumcode. In his time he has been responsible for underground hits like ‘Zoe’, ‘Polyester’ and ‘Fire In My Arms’, all of which demonstrate his dynamic understanding of sexy, dark and hypnotic techno grooves and at the same time have earned him plenty of great Beatport chart positions as well as respect from the best in the game.

Incredibly, ‘Satellite’ is Sam’s first full-length album. Informed by his DJ gigs at legendary places like Berghain in Berlin and Cielo in New York, the album starts with a dystopian bit of sonic scene setting, as if a space ship is charging up ready to take off.

From there it’s a case of getting straight down to business. ‘Another Chance’ is a spacey bit of cantering techno and ‘White’ is rooted in devastating kick drums and is riddled with serrated synth lines that build lots of great techno pressure. ‘Down’ is an undulating bit of funky techno complete with choice vocal flourishes and tracks like ‘Lotus’ are prime offerings from the deeper end of the scale.

No two tracks sound the same on Satellite: Sam is always teasing out a new bit of texture, nailing a slightly different vibe or exploring different amounts of light and dark throughout the course of this most excellent album. This is evidenced by diverse cuts like ‘Dusty’, ‘Toxic’ and ‘Rave’.

Despite ‘Satellite’ being Sam’s debut album, it showcases his seductive style in all its glory across 12 fantastic tracks that will leave you begging for more.

What was the intention behind your set?
"I recorded this set at the CLITCAT Pride After Party and it was a lot of fun! Also love is a important factor in my life right now, so this influenced the set for sure as well a bit."

What was your most significant club / festival moment?
"Maybe because it’s fresh, but playing Acid Bogen for the first time was a awesome experience"

Solo or b2b? And why?
"I love playing b2b‘s since they are my favorite way of learning new things on the decks. Also it is fun to adapt to music, you usually don’t play. "

Favorite release at the moment & of all times?
"The best release at the moment is DIM KELLY & Mondingo - Homily, my all time favorite is maybe Martin Den Hollander - Breathe!"

Leipzig-based duo: Garstique and Nikolas Noam started their project three years ago, when the two musicians sat down together after a night out in the club with a bottle of sparkling wine, just a few hours later on the studio, the first mutual remix was born and so was GYRL. since then they have been releasing music on labels such as " Drossel Berlin " and "Tropical twista records" the best of Gyrl is yet to come, producing and releasing music on a constant basis and playing it out wherever they can.

DJ and Producer for Psy-Techno and Techno from Berlin, Germany

Esben used to be a professional dancer. After his dancing career ended, he discovered DJing. After a while as a DJ, he realized that all the big DJs produce their own songs. So he started his own career as a music producer. The beginnings were tough and the results were miserable. Nevertheless, he felt a passion for music and kept working and working. Until today. Today, Esben produces techno peak time and psy techno, even though he often finds it difficult to classify his own songs in these genres.
Esben started an event where he invites his friends to his home studio every Wednesday to make music together. These Wednesday sessions developed into the “Kollektiv Mittwoch” (Wednesday Collective), to which our closest friends are warmly invited to participate. His door is always open to new people and new influences.
