Recently joining the Ropeadope Records roster, Escaper blends soaring melodies provided by Will Hanza (guitars) with funk-laced rhythms laid down by Andrew Nesbitt (drums) and Jay Giacomazzo. Weaving through this sound are the intricate yet lyrical textures of Adam Ahuja (keys) and Johnny Butler (sax). 

Song recorded live at The Bunker Studio in Brooklyn, NY. Album was engineered/co-produced by John Davis (Lettuce, Brad Mehldau, Black Keys). 
 
Band members have played everywhere from Bonnaroo, Mountain Jam and Catskill Chill to Brooklyn Bowl and The Blue Note Jazz Club. As Escaper, the band has already shared the stage with notable acts such as Aqueous, Jimkata and G-Nome Project.

“Random Excess” is a state of reflexive release in the presence of ecstatic stimuli. Excess energy builds to the breaking point, and there is no choice but to shake and dance it all out. Driven by the funkiest of bass lines, this track is an introduction to the modern version of Escaper, as well as a portal into the sonic world of Escaper’s upcoming full-length, and everything that it will bring to the table.

The literal definition of Escaper is, "One who breaks free from confinement".  this Brooklyn based band strives for a sound without limits while keeping the dance grooves going.

The band will release their 3rd album on Ropeadope Records in 2020. Their first two albums were met with critical acclaim including being named a JamBase “Release Day Picks”. Named “On the Verge” by Relix Magazine (full page in print edition).

The band has shared the stage with members of the DIsco Biscuits, Brazilian Girls, Theivery Corporation, Rubblebucket, Cabinet, Turkuaz and more. They have also shared bills at venues such as Brooklyn Bowl and Irving Plaza with Jon Fishman (Phish), Karl Denson, Start Making Sense, Aqueous, Electric Beethoven, The DAB Sessions (ft. Aron Magner & Felix Pastorius). They have been seen at festivals such as Elements:Lakewood, DiscJam, Grateful Getdown, Rock n Roll Resort and Mazzstock.
