Founder of the mighty party and event organizer Tombolo, beloved Madrid local hero OG Juan is a one to follow (not in the social media way, tho). He has been promoting and working the club scene for more than 10 years. Programmer and curator of different projects, he started setting up raves and underground events in 2012, right when some of us were learning how to spin. He has brought more than 200 international artists from all kinds of music genres throughout his career including Mezerg, Orlando Julius, Fatima, Yussef Dayes, or Egyptian Lover.

For this set, he has prepared a banger after banger vibe with all shorts of roots within house with a deep feel for the classics. Pretty much what you expect to hear on one of his atomic sets.

Andy Martin (@andy-martin) is one of my favourite musical discoveries from the last few years. A while back, after hearing an iconic tune he made called "Revolution" featuring Lee Scratch Perry, I was excited about his music, and also learning more about him as an artist. Andy is based in Guadalajara, Mexico, with Jamaican and Mexican roots.

Whilst I was touring Mexico, we shared a few gigs together, and all the locals referred to him as "the best in the country", which I can completely understand. Since discovering Andy's music I've been hooked on his productions, an incredible fuse of old school and new school dub techno, underpinned by influences from his heritage which flourish in the form of exciting percussion & unique, emotional melodies. 

On top of this, Andy is very humble, and  a very talented DJ, and I'm super happy to host him in the series.

This project has developed different facets, including a career as an interpreter and audio producer when experimenting with a wide variety of musical sequences. This breakthrough led to a prestigious residency at Berghain, further cementing his influence in the scene. Hey guys! been while since I posted anything on here that wasn't Afterglow Audio related - so I thought it would be good timing to sit down and bring some of the sounds I've been enjoying recently into one project. Having been focussing most of my attention to digging records for the last year, I thought it would be timely to record something from my digital collection also. 

The concept? 'the arc of dance floor solitude'. On dance floors, often in clubs for me personally (hence photo, taken at one of the more clubby spaces at Horst this year), we find ourselves having moments of introspection - where we aren't talking, making eye contact or engaging at all really with anyone around us. Leaning into proximal solitude, despite being surrounded by sweaty bodies. During these moments we reflect, and sometimes even have significant or insignificant realisations about things - for example, I recently decided on a dance floor that the speakers above my turntables simply had to be hung from the ceiling (project ongoing, proving more difficult than dance floor me had envisaged). 

Coming out of these moments I often feel refreshed, as if I've had a little reset, and reconnecting with my friends and those around me brings a new wave of energy. This is the headspace I tried to capture in this mix - the arc of delving into solitude then the fulfilment of rejoining everyone again.
