We must be the spearhead of our own movements, and MEANT is doing that with the forthcoming release of GET CLOSER EP, which has been penned and performed by founder and curator REMAIN as one half of the duo with daWad aka We Are Le Turfu.

This EP features two original tracks from the dance floor-ready pair, as well as a remix from French electronic music legend DJ OIL (R&S, Multi Culti), and is the follow-up to their debut ‘We Are Le Turfu’ EP released on LUMIERE NOIRE in Oct 2024.

With decades of experience under their belts, this second studio effort flawlessly embodies their signature sound & carefully crafted production with this particular raw intensity driven by unpredictable hooks, perfectly matching the avant-garde sound MEANT is renowned for in its 15 year label history. 

REMAIN, on top of being MEANT RECORDS’ founder and curator, is a well-known Rex Club resident, and has a plethora of releases on labels including Throne of Blood, Darkroom Dubs, and Death On Wax. 

daWad was born with music in his blood (pianist mother and his grandfather an organist and harmonizer) and previously co-managed the IRM label which released Traumer’s first records. With releases on KNTRL, La Dame Noir Records, Beachcoma and more, this new release marks his debut on MEANT. Now ready to unveil their machine-only live show, and to hit the road hard - REMAIN & daWad carefully selected those two tracks from their sessions in order to further orient you to the dancefloor whether you hear it at your local club, or in their live set.

Melómana Records presents its reference #47: The debut of VAN HUST BAND with remixes by Fonsi G and Azaria. The second release of 2024 encapsulates the most underground essence of electronic music. The label's reference #47 introduces the debut of VAN HUST BAND, the duo formed by Andalusians Lebollet and David Moreno, who, after nearly two decades of friendship and an unbreakable bond with music, have decided to shape their sonic vision into three original tracks that explore the realms of dark disco, synthwave, and nu disco, with acid and EBM nuances.After their first appearance in the Melómana Records compilation under the same project name, VAN HUST BAND gains momentum with this release, solidifying their identity through a solid and energetic production.

To complement the release, the EP includes two high-caliber remixes. On one hand, Fonsi G, a veteran of the Andalusian electronic scene, adds his distinctive touch with a remix that explores the boundaries between deep house and techno, maintaining his characteristic depth and immersive groove. On the other hand, Madrid-based Azaria, known for his versatility as a producer and his work in the dark disco and indie electronic scene, takes one of the tracks to a new dimension, merging his production expertise with a dark and elegant reinterpretation. With this release, Melómana Records reaffirms its commitment to electronic avant-garde, betting on artists with a strong musical discourse and an authentic sound.

3rd track "EMERSON 116" for "Tapes to Go" series is coming from two amigos of Maleante Records - Globemaster and Corresponsal. "EMERSON 116" is a penthouse in Mexico City where these guys spend a few days while playing gigs all around the city and having moments with their old friends. Flashbacks of a great time inspired Globemaster and Corresponsal to recreate amazing memories into musical form. 

The beginning of the track is taut but secured. Rising slowly with a straight beat part, heart-type pumping bass, and main synth theme colored with subtle and intangible fxs. Latin dance percussions come at the peak and continue till the end impacting the vibe in a very positive way. The whole groove and emotion of the track definitely will transfer you to "EMERSON 116" penthouse to feel the moment that lasts till now.

Globemaster is a Mexican sound engineer and producer born in Torreón, co-founder of Próximo, and part of teamwork of Maleante Records.
His influences are rock, some post-punk, and rave music, which leads him up to techno, psychedelic, and indie dance mixed sounds.

Corresponsal is DJ and producer from Torreón North Mexico, co-founder of Maleante Records, and part of the Próximo team.
