blue eyes darting around, scanning the crowd, the first day of high school in a faraway town

stood her up our second date, I always had to keep her waiting
tried to lose her trust but she don't break

and at sixteen weeks we thought we'd lost him
learnt how much we really want it

and what it is to trust in the unknown

on the fourteenth day of autumn
half past five she finally got the call
no more cycles, no more needles every morning
maybe soon we'll meet our baby boy

when we get to glimpse a future
it shakes up all the stories that we tell
bears reminding this is only our beginning
