You can feel a pump of excitement. Energy rushes through your vascular muscles. You start to walk faster. You meet up to catch some Tracers. What are those? I don’t know. But I know that I like what I feel. Slow trickles and drops of mind-altering synths are topped with an introduction to what’s to come. Easy does it. 

It’s stormy out. Violent storms. The dictionary calls it a Tempest. But it feels alright. We’re in a good space, spaced out and not in each other’s space. Still getting ready for that very moment. It’s like those dreams where you fall and you fall and then you slowly drift onto a pillow of comfort. Yes, that’s what I feel. 

As we gently rest in the soft hard reality, It Keeps On Raining. But rain is good for nature and the soul is cleansed with inspirational triggers. We know what’s next. After party vibes before the party begins. That’s because there’s never an in between. It’s all part of this same program. 

You finally enter the new place in town. It’s called Post Nature. Immediate response. Speedy lights and smoke machines. Sensors on the ground. Darkened walls. You look left and right and give a nod of appreciation. They feel what you feel and I feel what I haven’t felt in a while. Let’s jump in this together. 

In the zone you realize reality is as real as it gets. What’s The Trouble, Bubble? Nothing, nothing at all. We’re proud of this particular moment, of this specific movement, of this very day and age. It has come, and we saw it coming all along.

The Ctrls project was founded In 2012. From the first Token records release the presence of a highly individual sonic style was apparent and his fast paced and futuristic techno based sound has now been well established with a stream of respected music on labels such as Token Records, Earwiggle and Key Vinyl. A lifelong devotee of electronic dance music, DJ’ing and live performance are central for the project. This has resulted in many involved sets at globally notable venues such as Tresor, Fold, Berghain, Khidi, Fabric, Kit Kat, Fold and Club Drugstore in addition to a residency at Copenhagen’s purest electronic dance music venue: Ved Siden Af. The future heralds a wider scope as electro, breakbeats, noise and audio visual components are incorporated, as well as the physical Future Awkward and SafeCom event series.

44 Tours unites their local artists to fulfill the prophecy a drunk shaolin-cyborg once told them.

The four robotic monks stepping up for this EP (Alder, Same O, Marino & Berg Jaär) have each developed their own secret breaksy adventure tactics to combat a future led by brotherhoods of wealthy capitalistic humanoids. ALDER opens up the fight in pure detroit-electro style. Nested pads nestled in a huge palette of colors and tones which takes us to a galaxy far, far away. Next is SAME O, despite being the youngest padawan is still showing some ghetto and ballsy moves. Wavy and snaky synthwork over a fast think-break pattern and a ravy bassline, no less of a banger here.

Breaking through to the other side: the most loyal soldier on the team, MARINO aka the cat yelling at man. He delivers a 303-driven weapon that will break any cyborg neck for sure. The end is surely near, to finish up BERG-JAÄR drops a bassy polyrhythmic manoeuvre, the attention is focused on the complexity of drums and a minimalistic and grooving approach throughout the track. Fight is over, humanoids.
The future is saved from the capitalist robots, their world of Confrérie, Pactole & Dividendes is over. Or is it?

44 Tours is a record shop specialized in electronic music, coffee-bar and record label, based in Nantes, France. First opening it's doors in March 2019, 44 Tours quickly became a meeting point for the local community. Eager to help the scene grow by hosting local artists, they also want to expand connections outside the city by releasing original and authentic records to highlight the richness of the undiscovered music from Nantes.
