Karol XVII & MB Valence’s ‘Whispers’ feat. Lazerusman gets a new lease of life via an emphatic remix from label favourite Ucha and a retouched 2022 edition of the original.

Following a standout remix offering from Gorge in 2019, Karol XVII & MB Valence’s ‘Whispers’ feat. Lazerusman makes another appearance on Déepalma as label regular Ucha delivers a striking rendition alongside a 2022 retouch of the original track.

Kicking off with the remix, Ucha dives straight into the depths of funk-inspired afro vibes centring around Lazarusman’s gripping vocal topline. Slapping guitar riffs and soulful bass runs glide alongside a subtle core of afro beats and live instrumental sampling to deliver a culturally authentic experience that you can’t help but dance to.

The 2022 retouch rounds off the release in a delightfully deep fashion. An instantly late-night feeling cut with stripped-back grooves and endless layers of intricate harmonies, complemented once again by Lazarusman’s hypnotic lyricism and creating a dream-like state filled with analogue richness and hardware prowess from start to finish.

Up next, Savito's seductive rhythmic poetry wafts gracefully through Alegria's ebullient 'Current,' followed by Alessa Khin's effervescent tantric groover, 'Santa Muneca.' MBR 509 pulses forward as Berkan and Orkun Bozdemir re-awaken the aura of the 'Lost Acropolis,' then immerses into the viscous progressions and undulations of Ways of Thinking's 'Antes Esperando.' This month, our release is made in South Africa, and we continue with our Selections of exceptional tracks: Creative Connected Experiences, Vol.3 made in South Africa.
Let’s start with Echo Deep, releasing “Sabisayo”, which starts right away with soft piano chords and a rhythmic synth. A voice coming from far away leads into the main theme and the track picks up with the rhythm, sustained until the end. 
The second release is by Dj weather and Vtrinity with “Barena”. The track is a deep Afro house piece, with a strong bass “a la” Ten Wall, which leads the melody and the character. Neil Amarey’s remix stands out for his rhythmic drums and mysterious pad. The magic of this track fully flows thanks to its dynamic and surprising elements. 
The other track by Dj Weather is with Skeptical Kevo, it’s called “Tell Kususa” and develops around a melodic pad. It starts melancholic and grows in energy, until the piano chords kick in and the rhythm starts growing again after the break. Enjoy our February South African sounds!

Urmet K is next up on Stereo MCs’ connected label with two rich new singles, one of which features Zanzibar’s BAQABO.

Estonian-native Urmet K has steadily established himself as a firm fixture on London’s underground circuit. Blurring the lines between hypnotic and emotive house melodies. His music often features hefty grooves, intricate organic percussive passages as well introspective synth arrangements that have been supported by key players like Black Coffee, Themba and Pablo Fierro.

Opener ‘Unani Pendeza’ Ft. BAQABO is Afro house infused with spiritual synths and whimsical melodies. It’s one for late-night lovers, with the beautiful vocals and meaningful pads casting a fine spell on all who hear it. ‘Sweat’ is just as physically charged, this time with layer upon layer of loose percussion, swaying drums and keys that rain down from the heavens. Angelic vocal chants arrive next to bold minor chords to enrich the groove yet further and complete the magical atmosphere.

🎧 "THE LONELY TAPES" is the second volume in this experimental series. This installment encapsulates the moods and uncertainty that consumed me while I was deciding my future in music, back around 2001. It combines desolate recordings of unresolved exercises and fragments from the conservatory (the dilemma of saying goodbye and classical training) with the first beats and textures emerging from new technologies and the development of computers (the challenge of the digital future)
