"Who Is It" is a song by American recording artist Michael Jackson. It was released by Epic Records on August 31, 1992, as the fifth single from Jackson's eighth studio album, Dangerous (1991). The song was written and composed by Jackson, and produced by Jackson and Bill Bottrell. The song's lyrics pertain to despair over being left by someone you love; some critics noted a comparison to the lyrics of the song to Jackson's single, "Billie Jean", from the album Thriller. As part of the promotion for the song, two music videos were released in 1992. The song was not performed by Jackson on any of his world concert tours. He did, however, perform a small segment of the song in his interview with Oprah Winfrey in early 1993. An instrumental portion of the song was supposed to be used during the This Is It comeback concerts in London, which were canceled due to Jackson's death.

Sultry Italian-Canadian songstress Daniela Nardi and her project Espresso Manifesto sizzles on her latest remix release “Macchiato67 – Via Con Me Remix EP”. Already established as one of Canada’s most celebrated homegrown artists, her recently released recording along with this remix, marks a musical and personal milestone for the award winning singer/songwriter/producer.

The passionately crafted album, a tribute to the legendary Italian composer/performer Paolo Conte, has been receiving rave reviews all the way from Italy for Nardi’s enchanting voice and smoldering interpretations of Conte’s work. 

Nardi now takes the songs of Conte a step further with this collaboration with Italian DJ-Composer Gerardo Frisina (Schema/Ishtar). Frisina takes the famous Conte tune “Via Con Me” and creates sizzling, infectious remixes that will be sure to keep all club goers happy. The Macchiato67 EP consists of 3 tracks – Club mix, Vocal Remix as well as, Instrumental Remix.

Nardi says of her choice in working with Frisina, “I really love the Italian lounge scene and have been a fan of Gerardo’s work for some time. I thought it would be really cool if I could introduce a new generation to the works of Paolo Conte. By adding the treatment that we did to the tracks, it helps bring a freshness, new life and if anything further show how timeless Conte’s tracks are when you can make a remix out of it and it sounds like a contemporary track.”

Charting on radio across North America with features on the prestigious KCRW’s ‘Café LA’ with Tom Schnabel, PRI’s The World (syndicated to BBC, NPR and CBC) and Montreal’s Radio Canada, Nardi is well on her way to fulfilling her “manifesto” to bring the spirit of Italy to North America. Recent shows in Toronto and Montreal have been sold out and the band’s debut in New York received rave reviews. Espresso Manifesto is living up to what the Montreal Journal calls a “veritable tour de force – 4.5 out of 5 stars”.
On Espresso Manifesto, Nardi, the Toronto-born daughter of Italian immigrants, explores her heritage, while stepping into adventurous creative territory outside of her musical comfort zone. She and her husband, renowned jazz pianist/composer Ron Davis, traveled to Italy to record the album at Elettra Studios in Umbria. The studio band includes some of Italy's best jazz musicians. Production was by Nardi, with co production from Davis and legendary producer/engineer Pasquale Minieri.

Although Daniela Nardi is already established as one of Canada's most celebrated homegrown artists, the self- produced Espresso Manifesto - The Songs of Paolo Conte and launch of her new world music project, marks a musical as well as personal, milestone for the award winning multi-talented singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist. 


The heartfelt set is a tribute to the legendary Italian composer/performer Paolo Conte, with Nardi exploring a dozen of Conte's classic songs. The singer's distinctive readings capture Conte's passionate essence, while unearthing new layers of emotional content and putting her own unmistakable mark on the material. Nardi matches her sublimely expressive vocals with spare, earthy jazzy instrumental arrangements, offering an evocative meeting of old-world romanticism and modernist cool. 


Nardi's deeply felt reworkings of such stirring vintage numbers as the plaintive, haunting tango inspired"Gioco D'Azzardo," the beautifully bittersweet "Nina," the punchy, playful "Via Con Me" and the breezy, swinging "Gelato al Limon" offer powerful testimony to Conte's enduring genius and Nardi's singular interpretive skills. The resulting merge of composer and performer, and of cultures and sensibilities, makes for a memorable musical experience whose timeless eloquence transcends the songs' Italian lyrics.
