Malaysian born singer, songwriter, composer and producer Poova is as multi-faceted as she is multi talented. Nominated for three VIMA awards and winner of best overall pop act at the VIMAs 2013, there’s no doubting the international class of this amazing performer, from her own albums to collaborations with other artists, Poova is what Malaysia’s international music scene is all about. Poova has been performing as an original artist, since 2009 and debuted her original first album in her Ticket to Faketown tour in 2012 backed by a nine piece band, financed and organised under her production company Bumpertobumper Productions. Alongside this, Poova works with corporate companies and has chalked up an impressive list of events and has sung almost everywhere worth singing in Kuala Lumpur and is well known and admired by many in the Malaysian music scene, for her unassuming, down to earth attitude and ability to command attention from her audiences.

In 1997, Melissa Indot broke into the music scene in the UK as part of a duo act called Confucius Says, which went on to debut their first single “Not in Blue” and their second “Window”. They were featured on BB1’s National Lottery Programme televised live to 14 million viewers.

Returning home to Malaysia in 2005, she wasted no time performing and even spinning as a DJ, coining the word “spinging” as she added the live performance element to her DJ sets by singing too. She has played with some internationally renowned DJs such as American DJ Eric Kupper, a two-time Grammy Award-winning producer/musician).

Here first solo album Eclecticism won the 2008 Malaysian Music Industry Award (AIM15). Hits like “Starlight” and “This Time” were remixed and featured on several albums by Fierce Angel, a UK-based dance record label.

Her second studio album, MDot, released in October 2013. It weaves a story of the diverse synergy of life, encompassing the realization that we never really stand alone as we continue our life journey.

Having steadily built up a catalogue of his own elastic style of production on various labels such as Love International and Raum & Pornographic, he was named Best New DJ 2005 and Best DJ 2006 & 2007 in Juice Magazine. Topdeejays.com also ranked him the number one house and techouse DJ in Malaysia this year. 

He covers an impressive range of electronic dance music genres: swerving from minimal to maximal disco, house and techno via the freshest style-defining sounds from a multifaceted landscape of influences from around the world. He's also played alongside the likes of Carl Cox, Tiefschwarz, John Digweed, Sven Vath, Danny Howells, James Holden and Stacey Pullen and many other revered names in the industry.

In Europe, he currently enjoys a residency at the German techno institution Tresor's Electric on Monday nights. And away from Europe, he's a resident DJ at the new Subsix, the world's first underwater club at the sunny Niyama Resort in the Maldives, for three months each year when he is not on the road touring.

In 2012, he released his debut album.
