Taking Cart 2

Parched from the sweltering heat, the rhino made his way to his favourite watering hole to refresh himself. He was about to take a few gulps when he was taken aback by a most peculiar sight. Instead of his usual reflection was something else. Someone else. Someone who looked equally perplexed. It couldn't be him, could it? He counted the horns on the animal's head to be sure. One, two three. Three is too many for a rhino. Also it was reptile and a female one at that, so definitely not him. Intrigued, the rhino dipped his toe into the pool and felt no wetness at all. Instead, his foot met with solid ground on the other side. He stepped through to find himself in some sort of parallel dimension. Kind of annoying because he was still really thirsty.

Jamns are quick little projects made within the space of roughly a day as an exercise in creativity and productivity. As part of 'Jamnuary', I'm planning to share a series of these this month with my fellow students at SeedToStage.com. Due to their nature, the Jamns may be somewhat rough around the edges. They're a nice way to expand the Esquivale universe without getting bogged down in details.

Voici ma contribution pour le concours de Mathémusique, utilisant le cercle rhythmique. (https://rhythm-circle.com/) Les harmonies et melodies sont créé avec des techniques de jazz Éthiopien, mais les timbres sont electroniques.

Finalement, j'intégrerai cet morceau de musique dans le monde d'Esquivale (mon projet en multimédia où je raconte des histoires fantastiques), mais pour fair ça j'ai besoin de créer une histoire qui l'accompagner.

This is my submission to the Mathémusique contest, utilising the rhythm circle tool. (https://rhythm-circle.com/) I wrote the harmonies and melodies using techniques based on Ethiopian jazz. The instrumentation, however, is electronic and evokes a space age feel.

I plan to incorporate this piece of music into my Esquivale project but to do so I'll need to marry it to some sort of story, character(s) or scenario. I will repost it once I've contextualised it within the Esquivalean worldbuilding.

Cercle Rhythmique

Esquivale is a project that explores how stories can be told through art and music. Each chapter can be seen and heard, as can it be read. The events, scenes and characters' thoughts and actions are represented musically through the use of instrumentation, sound effects and leitmotifs.
