Byron Yeates has his fingerprints all over Berlin’s musical landscape. He’s the Irish wunderkind behind Radiant Love, an event series, label and collective with a loyal following that encourages free-thinking, self-expression and musical exploration in all its forms. He’s also resident at recently launched La Noche at OHM (Tresor’s ‘klein aber fein’ little brother) and community radio station Refuge Worldwide. The German capital’s oft-referenced hybrid of queer politics and music is the driving force here, and Yeates really puts his money where his mouth is. His marathon sets and bouncy, high-energy sounds run the gamut from trance to more beat-focused house and have landed him squarely behind the decks at covetable haunts like Panorama Bar, Fold London and Shelter Amsterdam. As a brief interlude from his growing number of bookings, Byron’s put together a sumptuous mix for Bassiani Podcast 164. This one’s sharp-witted and quick as a flash, rebellious breakbeats, carefree melodies and layered layered wizardry from the Radiant Records label-boss.

Vel, Alias Jennifer Parienté, is Moroccan artist, France-Based, Dj,
Producer of electronic music and engineer. When she left Rabat, her hometown, at 18 years old for Lyon, Jennifer studied to become an
engineer. Yet, one particular night shook her path up: she met techno music for the first time at Le Sucre and it was love at first sight. With these new Doors opened, she passionately nurtured
from the club culture she encountered there, up to the point where she allowed herself to ascend, becoming Vel. Celar-paced yet textured techno, powerful yet graceful, Vel’s sound radiates
through throbbing drums she summons from her memories, celestial whispers and fragile voices: the divine feminine emanates from all
the pulsating vibrations she casts. During sets, Vel knows no limits of genre, she’s always eager to hit hard, defying boundaries and BPMs, a true force of nature.

In a small amount of time, Vel’s journey was already marked by the friendship and the guidance of artists such as François X, u.r.trax or In Aeternam Vale. She looks up to them and to other artists where she also finds inspiration: Bjarki, Anetha, Schacke, Objekt...

Vel is appearing on compilations such as Blue Hour’s last release, will release a collaboration track with Unklevon on Boys Noise records, and will soon be releasing her debut album on Mama told ya.

Co-founder of Norway’s future-facing Ute crew, Ekkel (Teo Bachs) has a front-row seat in the cockpit on their psychedelic flavoured quest. From their woodland beginnings they’ve staked a claim to freedom through music and community, and expanded to include brick and mortar club nights and a self-titled label for the release of their magnetic and mysterious techno sounds. Forest-bath electronics that take stock of Scandinavia’s ambient tradition and cross-pollinate it with a measure of acid, trance and midnight sun. Teo’s own steadily rising number of productions (side project H25 included) has fleshed out Ute’s vision with a personal twist, and there’s another three scheduled for the fall. The past few years too have seen him hard at work exploring the possibilities of sound in a lonely cabin as part of Solar Alliance, collaborating with S.O.N.S on Korean label Junction Forest and producing many more unreleased tracks, some of which you’ll hear here first for a very special number. It’s a wormhole trip that marches headlong from the shadows, shimmering and physical beats that heave and swell, tribal breaks that flit from track to track and build a cathartic mood that harks back to Ute’s woodland roots. "As is usual, I did a mix that progressively builds in energy and tempo. Groove and rhythm serve as the common thread, with tracks spanning various genres. I enjoy eclectic selections featuring complex rhythmic sections, drawing from dub, bass, and Latin influences. The percussive cuts often carry a distinct UK flavor, tailored for energetic dancing and powerful sound systems. Towards the end, the mix becomes more trippy, adopting a minimalist tech vibe."

Tech House – often misunderstood and unfairly written off as commercial – takes centre stage in the upcoming Blitzcast by our good friend Sylwa, who has been influenced by its original, understated sound and approach, and now thrills with a soulful interpretation.

> This mix features tracks released exclusively between 1996 and 2005, with a strong leaning toward the sound pioneered by early UK tech house figures like Terry Francis, Eddie Richards, and the circle surrounding London’s Fabric club and Swag Records.
I aimed to create an obscure, moody atmosphere with long blends, moving through stripped-back, loop-heavy cuts, dubby stabs, and acid lines—gradually brightening into more melody-driven tracks toward the end. You’ll hear some crackles and slight mixing imperfections; I guess it's the unavoidable nature of mixing with vinyl. <
