NVST at Dekmantel Ten

Born and raised on the island of Mauritius, @djsportt is now based in Barcelona. With a love for polyrhythmic, bouncy, mind-bending sounds, she brings up disorienting rhythms playing between tension and release, keeping listeners engaged in ever-shifting sonic landscapes.
She crafts a distinctive sound within the deeper, bass-driven and psychedelic realms of club music. Her DJ sets are driven by an adventurous, storytelling approach, focussing on channelling into the depths of textures and intricate rhythms.
 
For this mix, she explores a slightly different selection than usual, focussing on deep and dubby techno evolving into breaks and bass, maintaining a kind of warm-up energy all the way.

It’s a rare treat to share this recording from two of my favorite powerhouse selectors, Rotterdam’s Nelly and Oslo’s Marius Bø, who linked behind the decks at Nantes’ renowned Macadam last December for a night curated by club resident Bambi. The result, as expected, soars. Witness a three-hour cyclone of blistering, mind-shattering divinations capturing these two in their finest element, an uplifting of the psyche leaving no layer unturned. Thanks Nelly & Marius!

Nelly的音樂不只是讓人跳舞，更像是一場超越現實的聲響探索，帶著濃厚的情感故事。來自鹿特丹的她，總能在任何地方營造出迷幻而深邃的氛圍。她在站上 DJ 台的瞬間感受到最純粹的自由，靈感來自大自然，也來自她腦中的無限想像。無論是在昏暗的夜店，還是帶領大家進入深層聆聽的音樂旅程，她總能讓自己和台下的人找到一種難以言喻的連結。

她的風格融合迷幻的Techno與催眠感十足的Trance，細膩而強烈的節奏交織出獨特的音場，讓人隨之沉醉又難以抗拒。透過不斷摸索與自我探索，Nelly找到了屬於自己的聲音，也讓這條音樂之路帶她在2023年成為Garage Noord的常駐DJ，並登上各大音樂節與場館，包括挪威的 Monument Festival、Dekmantel Festival、布拉格 Ankali，以及過去一年裡頻繁出現在De School。

不論台上台下，Nelly 始終是舞池的一部分。她的情感隨著音樂流動，與人群融為一體，在旋轉跳動間找到真正的自由。

Explorations beyond the dancefloor and emotional storytelling: Nelly crafts otherworldly soundscapes wherever she goes. The Rotterdam-based artist feels true and utter freedom behind the decks, drawing inspiration from nature and her own mind palace. She creates a sense of belonging for herself and her audience every time she performs, whether that’s in a darkened room or when she takes crowds on a sonic journey through profound listening sets. 

Nelly laces mind-altering techno and hypnotic trance with spellbinding rhythms, entrancing dancers with dark but elegant sounds. Accompanied by a past of self-exploration and finding balance, she’s undoubtedly discovered her voice through playing. Her path has led her to land a residency at the influential Garage Noord in 2023, alongside playing at venues and festivals, including Monument Festival Norway, Dekmantel Festival, Ankali Prague, and as a regular at De School over the last year. 

Most of all, Nelly can always be found on the dance floor herself, where she lets her emotions flow in the swirling and weightless mass of the dance floor.

It's an honor to welcome Amsterdam's Loek Frey to our series, whose meticulous attention to detail and eminent experimentalism command the mind's attention like no other. The OQAD label head and Omen Wapta collaborator invites us to peer delicately beyond the edge, unveiling a hyperintense, subsonic blur through which a primordial palette begins to emerge. Drifting into deep and metric realms, Berlin-based Sean H takes over the Further Inward series, flowing through unseen currents and unfolding enigmatic patterns. Guiding us through a weightless dimension, her soundscapes shimmer between realities. A passage not taken, yet always present.

I’m very pleased to welcome Sean to Further Inward. I was blown away by her atmospheric and progressive selections on the Area127 and the Monochrome series, in which she morphs effortlessly between odd rhythmic patterns. I’m excited to have her guide us through this polychromic journey.
