ਮਲਾਰ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
Malaar, Fifth Mehla:

ਬਿਛੁਰਤ ਕਿਉ ਜੀਵੇ ਓਇ ਜੀਵਨ ॥
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਛੋੜੇ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੀਊ ਸਕਦੇ 
Separated from the Lord, how can any living being live?

ਚਿਤਹਿ ਉਲਾਸ ਆਸ ਮਿਲਬੇ ਕੀ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਰਸ ਪੀਵਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ) ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨ-ਕਮਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਸ ਪੀਣ ਦੀ ਆਸ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਤਾਂਘ ਹੈ,
My consciousness is filled with yearning and hope to meet my Lord, and drink in the sublime essence of His Lotus Feet. ||1||Pause||

ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਪਿਆਸ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਅੰਤਰੁ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਦੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਵਿੱਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ । 
Those who are thirsty for You, O my Beloved, are not separated from You.

ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਬਿਸਰੈ ਮੇਰੋ ਰਾਮੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸੇ ਮੂਏ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਂਹੀਂ ॥੧॥
ਪਰ, ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤੇ ਮਰੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤੇ ਹੀ ਮਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ।੧।
Those who forget my Beloved Lord are dead and dying. ||1||

ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਜਗਦੀਸੁਰ ਪੇਖਤ ਸਦਾ ਹਜੂਰੇ ॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ—ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਵੱਸਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਹਨ । 
The Lord of the Universe is permeating and pervading my mind and body; I see Him Ever-present, here and now

ਨਾਨਕ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਸਭ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਰਬ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰੇ ॥੨॥੮॥੧੨॥
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਉਂ ਜਾਪਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ, ਸਭ ਥਾਈਂ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ।੨।੮।੧੨।
. O Nanak, He is permeating the inner being of all; He is all-pervading everywhere. ||2||8||12||
