The music, the queues, the heat, the feeling you got when you heard and felt the music whilst still in the queue , the way you couldn't get on the dance floor cos it was rammed...the way you thought fuck it and danced your arse off in any corner you could!! the loo's...the conversations in the loos! the strangers that became friends...then your family, the dancers, the parade up canal street, THE Chrissy Darlin, THE Rhoada horse, the photo booth, the small pics you'd stick everywhere, the glory holes...in the early years..the staff and the feeling they gave you of being safe and secure..the way you made yourself go out on a Sunday even though you were rancid still from the Friday! SABBATH SUNDAYS!!! The celebs..good and bad...aka Wagner...bad!!! the podium downstairs that you would jump into when the dancers were on a break, the dj's...the best...❤️, the spacca chair, the one and only mad Pat, the laughter, the atmosphere..ELECTRIC!! the weird and wonderful people you would never meet in any other place under one roof, the checking of essential pics on a Monday to check they were Facebook appropriate...(aka tits out!!) the spiral stairs that you'd fearlessly leap over onto the stage when a tune came on, the PC terminals that you'd pounce on if you saw someone's Facebook left open!! the place where so many memories where made...and my last two words that sum up essential which I know many of you would agree with....THE ONE!!

Essential Nightclub the seminal Gay club has finally closed it's doors for the last time........here we can relive that time and share experiences and story's, from the nights in which everybody was your freind, and it seemed that the night would never end.......
