Following the success of the sell-out, vinyl-only series ( djebali ), the label boss returns with a team of talented, hand-picked producers alongside him. While the ( djebali ) label has featured only his music, ( djebali ) presents will offer up slices of the freshest house sounds, staying true to the deep, warm and bassy ethos that the Parisian has become known for.

For the debut EP, newcomer Mr KS does the honours with a superb 4-track package that leaves him sounding well beyond his years. Also hailing from France, the pair began exchanging music after meeting at a party where Mr KS had come to see Djebali play. Taken by the quality of his productions, Djebali discovered the first artist to launch his new label and quickly snapped up these four timeless house tracks.

Offering up two cuts for the dancefloor and two for when the mood turns deeper, Mr KS expertly crafts a modern take on the classic house spirit. Be it the warm sliding synths of ‘Rhodes’, the atmospheric animalistic callings on ‘Closer’ and ‘Walk Into The Sun’, or the chatterings over ‘House Feeling’ that catch your ear, much like his mentor he remains relentlessly groovy throughout.

Just like the ( djebali ) releases, ( djebali ) presents will be vinly-only and in very limited supply, making it no doubt the underground anorak’s next must-have joints on wax.

Like a tip of the hat to Herbert, the title track entices with easy piano licks, a cooing vocal and a lush atmospheric enveloping the 'floor in a warm embrace. It’s about time that Dresden based Steve Kasper comes around with his first solo EP on Uncanny Valley. After “Unvexed Dub” on UV010 and “Puli Kali (Rooted Dub)” together with Götterkreis on UV020 EP he provides four original cuts that extend the label's sound with some UK flavour.

“Helms Klamm” isn’t quite the battlefield you expect from the title but a fine UKish House affair with warm synths and a distinctive bass line that will cause a stir on the dance floor. Then there is “Slo’fool (Ydee Dirtsocks Reset)” which starts mysteriously tempered and develops into a hell of a tune with its drone-like synths. “Good Old” showcases Steve’s knack for combining ingredients of the UK Hardcore Continuum. Good old it is. Finally, the dubby track that has to be on a coherent Steve Kasper-EP is “Rooted (TRVE Dub)”. No doubt: Steve knows his masters.

The wonderful artwork was created by Thomas Neugebauer.

A place far away from everything, yet right around the corner. A vision close enough to touch, yet so far away. Surrounded by keys, hatches, pots and small fragmented parts, Marbert Rocel lie down, discuss and dance through the winter of 2015. In this environment, in their studio in Leipzig, the band ties together the songs, which first saw the light of day in a small spot enclosed by woods in the summer of 2014.  Each decision goes through every head, each chord is listened to a hundred times, from font to back and in reverse, each compromise: a triumph for the common cause. Not pompoous string arrangements fuel this album with grandeur, but rather the notion of a consensual nod, which has evolved within Marbert Rocel over the years.  “In the Beginning” is the fourth album by Marbert Rocel, a living utopia and a tart kiss for every purist genre lover. Nothing is hewn raw on here, rather sculptured delicately. Percussion is tickling from synth pads like dew, and the songs welcome you like good friends. Like Tinkerbell, Spunks voice guides through this strange familiar world, moving past big feelings and small gestures, to finally lead to where it all started: “In The Beginning”.
