Lester Square is a composer and guitarist. He was the original guitarist in Adam and the Ants before co-founding The Monochrome Set with whom he has worked on and off for 40 years. For the theatre, he composed music for the play CROWN OF THORNS at the Royal Victoria Dock and the Theatre Royal Stratford East and, with Helen McCookerybook, co-wrote the musical IDENTIKIT performed at The Curtain Theatre, Aldgate.
Also, with McCookerybook, he co-wrote music for the Tate Galley/Theatretrain production of RHYTHM AND HUES at the Brentwood International Centre, Essex. His overture song PRIMETIME was reprised as part of Theatretrain's anniversary performance at The O2 Centre.

He composed music for Philip Courtney's performance piece RAFT at Kettle's Yard Gallery in Cambridge and for television, with McCookerybook, he composed incidental music for PICTURES OF WOMEN (Channel 4), a documentary on Millwall Football Club, NO ONE LIKES US (Channel 4) and for THE FALL OF A QUEEN OR THE TASTE OF A FRUIT TO COME (Channel 4/Arts Council). His compositions  have also been used for, amongst others,  JIM'LL FIX IT (BBC), PIRATE RADIO 4 (BBC), THE GOOD HUMAN GUIDE (BBC), a seasonal trailer for  COMEDY CENTRAL, USA, and the METRO RECORDS USA ad campaign
