In the differential geometry of surfaces, an asymptotic curve is a curve always tangent to an asymptotic direction of the surface (where they exist).

It is sometimes called an asymptotic line, although it need not be a line.

An asymptotic direction is one in which the normal curvature is zero.

Takashi Matsumoto was a Japanese poet originally from Tokyo. Born into a family deeply interested in nō theater, he also devoted himself to it in his youth until 1921, when he came into contact with Hototogisu magazine and haiku poetry. Beginning the following year, Matsumoto became a student of Takahama Kyoshi. In 1946, he launched the magazine Fue 笛 ('The Flute').

“Take the sound of the stone aging.” At first I thought about this in the geological sense. Then I came to the conclusion that aging basically just means living. So what are stones up to when they live their secret lives when nobody is watching? What’s their sound? I imagined it being something cheeky and a little funky, kind of slow but danceable.
