The latest Chubby! podcast features a local Melbourne electronic music artist who is making waves as a producer and a Dj. Dawn Again (Nick Verwey), an in-demand producer with slew of releases the last decade on strong labels like Porn Wax, Roam Recordings, Blind Jacks Journey and Houseworx, the demand is equally as great for his djing abilities. Chubby! is happy to secure his latest for our series. A vinyl enthusiast and raised as a house-head, his sets range from disco, deep house to techno and back again. Inspired by the likes of DJ Sprinkles, Move D, Trinidadian Deep, Joy Parties and spending long hours digging in forgotten bargain bins. His record choices tend to on the warmer grooves yet still challenge the listeners equally, Moving the mind and the feet thru the soul is his goal. This mix is a great example of his ability to do just that.

Hailing from Buenos Aires, Argentina, I first met Lucas when we played together at a rave at Beirut Bar in Tandil (Argentina). We were pretty much on the same wavelength music-wise which ended up in an hours long back to back session at said event. 
That being said, when i invited him for a guest mix for my page, he delivered exactly what i was looking for for the series. Deep grooves, funky and danceable but yet with a relaxed vibe, breezy and with the open space feeling we all love.

Besides his own Thule Records output, THOR's dub-influenced techno tracks have been released on the Berlin based Sushitech Records, as well as The Double R, Rekids, Connaisseur Recordings, Harthouse and many more. Throughout the years, Thor has had steady amount of releases and remixes coming out and his music has also been heavily featured on various compilations worldwide. His last EP „Decay” came out on Thule Records in 2018 and he is currently working on new material in his new German studio while collaborating with artists such as Roger Gerressen, Matt Thibideau & OHM

Apart from remixing artists such as Bob Marley, Anthony Rother, Sigur Rós, Steve O’Sullivan, Ben Sims, Exos, Eddie Matos (Mateo & Matos), Gus Gus, THOR has also had numerous successful collaborations with artists such as Goldie, Pascal F.E.O.S., Tim Taylor, Exos, Roger Gerressen, Matt Thibideau, Yagya and the Icelandic pop superstar Björk. 

The list of places where THOR has performed at is long, and includes well known clubs around the world. e.g. Berlin's renowned Panoramabar/ Berghain, Heideglühen or Wilde Renate, RexClub in Paris, Heaven in London, Fuse in Brussels, Closer in Kiev to only mention some of his favourite locations in Europe. Being a frequent guest in North America he has graced the decks at New York´s ReSolute, Blkmarket and Flash in Washington DC, as well as Stereo Bar in Montreal and LuandaHouse in Toronto.
