A few words from DJ Estrella:
"After working every possible job at EAS and VSA from cleaner, bartender, picker, artist care-person, to making lights and night managing, I finally had my DJ debut in September 2021, playing at the VSA Grand Re-opening. It felt so meaningful to be able to share with the dancefloor the ridiculous amount of time I’ve put into digging for music! I’m also active with Københavns Frie Promotere, co-representing Ved Siden Af with whom I share a radio show, Get Personal at VSA.

After getting involved with the Copenhagen club scene mid 2010s, I started collecting vinyls and producing five years ago. Vibing with old progressive house and 90s UK house, my collection is kind of like one big pile of housey, quirky, romantic, dreamy, progressive stuff... with basslines that just gets me every time <3 For this mix, I stuck almost exclusively to my UK influence. And if the listener finds just a tiny bit of the meaning that I’ve put into it, mission accomplished!

While frequenting the Copenhagen rave scene for years, DJ Estrella has developed personal preferences when it comes to club music. Mainly under the umbrella of dusty 90s UK and US tech house, DJ Estrella’s swift selections leaves the dancefloor energetic and bustling through busy percussions, longing vocals and dreamy pads. In essence, it’s speedy and extroverted house music pregnant with trance elements that playfully push the party forward.

It's a seemless blend of tomorrow's peaktime productions paired with the lush and dreamy proggyness of yesterday. Add to that a dash of Ibiza's ecstatic sunrise scene, and you're in for a deep ride through the neverending cycle of escapist club music.

Soft Bites is the duo project of Copenhagen DJs and producers Modah and DJ Estrella. Modah is co-owner of record label TRTLNCK and has played every venue known to Copenhagernes creating profound dancefloor experiences for the past decade. Beside music, DJ Estrella has been a keen nightlife activist with KFP, Et Andet Sted, Ved Siden Af and Loophole Magazine, as well as hosting monthly podcast on nightlife music and activism.
