t all started when BRUTUS had a special feature on Ryuichi Sakamoto, so I went shopping for the first time in a while.
Also, the newly opened Sony Park is holding events featuring the professor, and there is an active movement to inherit the DNA left by the professor and create an environment where new music will be born in the future.
The professor's private studio featured in BRUTUS will be open to the public in the spring, and you will be able to actually use it to create music.
The studio environment is said to be the last setting of the professor's later years.
Speaking of the professor's synthesizer, it's the Prophet-5.
The tone that the professor used from his YMO days until his later years had a tone similar to that of a watercolor painting.
I could imagine the tone of the original version of Senmeri, and the tone of async, the last studio album released before his posthumous album 12.
Also, the effectors in the Mac are often used in async, and the environment retains the worldview of Album 12 and async.
What kind of world would it be if the professor were still alive and making his own creations?
I thought I'd try simulating it.
Sync means not to synchronize, and it plays sounds whose time axes are disjointed, and then assimilates them over time, adding noise, feed-recorded sounds, the sounds of Prophet-5, piano, etc. The professor seemed to think that new music would emerge.
I played around with the idea of ​​disparate timelines, put them together in Logic, and ended up making the asyncs harmonious.
I had a hard time deciding on the title, but I wanted to think of async as a new genre.

Brendon Moeller has essentially spent almost everyday of his life since 1994 in a home recording studio. Through research and practice he has evolved into a prolific producer with 10 full length albums under his belt and dozens of singles and remixes. He has performed live and DJ'ed at Fabric, Berghain and Cielo and then some. His love of a hybrid of hardware and digital resources for production shines through. His music has been championed by the likes of Francois K, Speedy J, Danny Howells, amongst others. An eclectic sensibility stemming from a love of many genres of music is always evident in Brendon's work.
