I don't usually do mixes unless asked or for my balamii show - but Halloween being my fave time of the year I had to go the fuck in. 3 and a half hours of Film Soundtracks from around the world, from Czech Underground Cinema to Italian Giallo and Horror to trashy 80's bits and bobs - also through video game soundtracks such as Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Fatal Frame and more - then back round again to some spooky Dubstep and the amazing Pumpkin Emoji track by my sister E.M.M.A - then into some UK Hardcore that samples Horror films such as Childs Play and Hellraiser & More - THEN into some proper harsh DnB back from when I lived that shit as a teenager from the likes of Limewax, Gein, Evol Intent and Resonant Evil - a little bit of hip hop (southern memphis stuff and dare i say a bit of "Horrcore" from Gravediggaz and Flatlinerz) and ending on some spooky bits from Aphex Twin, Boards Of Canada, Broadcast and of course Siouxsie & The Banshees - Was tonnes more I wanted to fit in but 3hrs 30(ish) felt long enough to cover all bases and influences.

Disconnecting The Dots w/ Etch - November 2021

I was kindly asked by the amazing VST/Plug-In creators Arturia to make a track utilising the new version of Pigments in return for being laced up with a copy and the new complete Arturia V Collection (which has been an absolute must for me for ages - beautifully made and almost impossible to tell the difference VST re-makes of some of the greatest hardware synths in history)

I thought I'd get cocky and make an entire track purely using Pigments - I enjoy limitations, but this was not a limitation; Pigment's is so insanely versatile while also being wide open, nothing hidden so idea to sound to composition was extremely free and exciting.

I used 9 instances of Pigments for this track, no external effects as the effects and modulation you can link up in Pigments is incredible - I highly recommend to fans of Vital, Serum & Massive - this takes things a step further in every way.

As for the track itself I went with a pretty raw 'minimal but confusing' approach - taking a lot of influence from Grime, Dancehall & Techstep DnB and a slight bit of footwork - I often enjoy runnning different sequences in different timings e.g. kicks in triplets, snares in dotted, and delays, reverbs & LFO's all in different speeds of the above - while not a complex track by any means it's proof that you can create a pretty hoofing and mentally engaging track with purely one synth and a few simple tricks

I'm hugely against Hardware Fetishism and hate how electronic music (music as a whole) is becoming an art form for the privaleged - you don't need anything but ideas and great and affordable software.

Huge love to the queen of DnB & Jungle - Mantra - for dropping this one on the legendary Rupture Rinse.fm show a few days ago; honoured to have her play one of my tracks

Rupture is easily one of the best nights in London - held at Corsica Studios; the best DnB/Jungle night PERIOD - helmed by these two genuises Mantra & Double O - I've had the pleasure of playing there in my fave room, room 2, Rupture is the night where i feel you have to play the hardest heaviest most out there DnB & Jungle tunes, so I went in.

This track, unsigned atm - made it last week. Part of a series of tracks I made focussing on my feelings of regret over certain situations I wish I could re-write the history of and wish I could heal the people I hurt mentally - making the tunes as a creative outlet and developing a friendship with those I thought lost has been a great help in getting me out of the pit of depression I thought I was trapped in.

Creativity is always the way out of hard situations, I advise it to everyone, even if you don't think you have a creative bone in your body - especially to people being locked down due to the COVID-19 crises; i've heard some excellent music and seen some excellent art be made over this period so far - let's keep it rolling - especially to those I hurt; find your creative hobby and outlet <3
