A short while ago, Peter Zimmermann, Italo King of Hamburg, Germany,  released his debut masterpiece and instant classic FROM GERMANY WITH LOVE on Emerald & Doreen. Going back to a time when friends were electric and robots systematic, the danceable audio drama warmed the hearts of humans and robots alike. Might it be about the obvious drawbacks of being in love with a robot or the synthesized tale of indigo island. 
A magical place where electric flowers bloom and naked fairies ride on unicorns. To celebrate  this amazing release a cast of insanely talented nu disco, synth loving, Italo-inspired producers & artists have teamed up to remix the greatest anthems of the album: James Rod, Nicolas Chenard, Aux tha Masterfader, Statickman, Disco Chillio, Dim Zach, Cebit.

Ladies and Gentlemen, here we go: Peter Zimmermann Remixed takes you yet again on a neon-voyage through glittering space disco vibes, paddywhackin electro funk drum rolls and swashbuckling italo disco basslines.

Hot on the heels of 'Inre Rydmen', the EP Swedish pair @tommy-awards released via @origin-peoples last month, come the remixes. Drafting in a cohort of the very best, this impending release will see the likes of Jonny Nash, Coyote and Mystic Jungle Tribe jump on the remix duties, touching original productions with their unmistakable idiosyncrasies. @bartoszkruczynski, the Polish producer better known under his Earth Trax guise, is another name credited on the release, offering up a 15-minute epic as he reinterprets penultimate track, 'Hans Logan'. 

Oscillating electronics mesmerise and an arpeggiating synth melody gradually makes way for the marimba. Sweeping, elongated strums of guitar stretch out like the horizon and the dialogue between various melodic elements continues throughout as we bear witness to various transformations, but the meditative quality is consistent throughout.

The 'Inre Rymden Remixes' are out soon on Origin Peoples.

Following a successful 2016 with his well-received Golden Tides, Bahia and Sunlit Forest EP’s Joe Morris returns to offer up four new cuts on Kenny Wisdom and Joe Burrin’s much lauded Pleasure Unit imprint. Continuing the producer’s passion for organic New Age, paradisiacal ambience and dreamy deep house, lead title ‘Jacaranda Skies’ might be what Telephones and Larry Heard sound like should they have met in Rimini circa ’91. A dusky atmosphere provides the backdrop to ecstasy inducing chords, an elevated brass sequence and afro percussion driving a tight groove. ‘Mangrove Dawn’ is an aural quaalude hit; gentle synth washes fold over each other, nature sounds buzz through a distant 303. ‘The Lost Garden’ opens to a reverb-soaked slide guitar and soaring pad section before a Jaguar snarl gives way to a subtle kick pattern atop M1 chimes and a Bali bells. ‘Reprise’ closes the EP off with a beat-less take on the original, the melodies given more space; the sonic equivalent of open-air swaying under hazy pink skies

Once considered a relic from the stone age of electronic instruments, the Modular Synthesizer is having something of a renaissance lately. Maybe it’s because it generates sound from raw current and acts as a direct link between the electronic musician and the source of their power.
 
Late last year, Kabuki made the trek to Japan to play a showcase set at the Tokyo Festival of Modular with his one-of-a-kind instrument, and the trip provided him with inspiration for the soundtrack to this moody stroll through the streets of Shibuya.
