ESTER is a young and talented DJ based in Prague with roots in Italy whose diverse and original selection definitely deserves attention. She's a member of the Prague group Organizovaný Plevel, which was able to take a strong and influential position on the scene in a relatively short time. Her music is characterized by a dark and energetic sound that often draws from the wave of post-punk and darkwave. She easily combines this touch of nostalgia with contemporary, non-conformist industrial that can be compelling and disturbing at the same time.

The unifying element of ESTER's musical selection is immersive darkness. And here it comes, the podcast with number 34, challenging and metamorphic.

A leading member of her home city’s We Are Radar party collective, she combines all aspects of the electronic sphere to carve out her own style. She has performed at leading clubs and festivals as Berghain, De School, Tresor, Golden Pudel, Dekmantel and Nachtdigital, Digital Tsunami, Boiler Room, and others. In addition to having extensive experience in booking and event management, she has brought out music on top-shelf labels such as Pinkman, both as herself as well as her collaborative alias Radiation 30376, a split EP on Dalmata Daniel, and more. Goro White Dog (aka GWD) is not only a mythical character from the Japanese series but also half of the former Ethno Service duo.

He's been on the local club scene for over 10 years, with his first official solo production released in 2013. Since then, he has continuously pursued his distinctive sound built on broken and often irregular slow rhythms. His live performances are always precise and planned, full of experimentation and dense energy. As he says, "my goal is rhythmic sound design".

Amid winter, on one of the last nights of 2021, a group of people gather in the welcoming womb of a listening bar. Bordered by tiled walls and embraced by a simulated fog, cradled listeners soon forgo outer fluctuations. From a distance, dogs’ barks and bats’ calls reverberate into the space, Pablo Diserens’ concert has begun. What unfolds next is a weaving of biophonic field recordings with hums of blown and stroke glass bottles. The emerging electroacoustic ecoscape oscillates between animal stridulations and Helmholtz resonances. Wavering wind pulses and mirroring clangs intertwine with ultrasonic drones bringing the audience into oneiric realms. Ants, grasshoppers, and crickets infuse the room with vespertine warmth. Windows ooze with condensation. Winter seems far, as if morphed into a balmy summer night. A new landscape materializes, birthed by the set of frequencies at play. Buccal air gently throbs in and out of the glass vessels in glistening gestures. Pablo blows into their empty bottles one last time before handing the stage to a sizzling underwater mixture of rain drops and insectean accents. 

The recorded fragment stops here, yet, that night, the formed sonic window into this temporary landscape pursued its course. The auditory encounters that followed now only exist in the hazy memories of wintertide listeners.
