Growing our body of sound to encompass more variety, Corpus Records Diverse (CRX) serves as a platform for musical exploration beyond genre with the goal to nurture creative exchange. The first EP of this new catalogue comes from no other than Luis Rozalén aka HD Substance, owner of SUB_tl, music educator and entrepreneur. He taps his early musical influences to create a unique and captivating experience, blending drum & bass-inspired sounds with modern production techniques. 

Right from the beginning, HD Substance shows that the only certainty about CRX001 is uncertainty. A wild mix of electronic sounds and genres that keeps constantly evolving and surprising – just like the whole EP before it. With his second track, Luís uses strange vocals to guide us through a dark, industrial soundscape that delivers a completely new take on New Wave.

A disobedient old-school groove lays the foundation to a carefully orchestrated chaos of sounds serving as a caesura in this body of work. Our journey into the jungle continues with a subtle but relentless groove that channels breakbeat raves of an era long-gone.

We first heard Lucas Marchal (dc11) on his web channel where he shares modular videos, working with very precise and deep modules including verbos, buchla red panels, random source and many other brands. We immediately thought his tracks would fit perfectly on the label so we asked him to cook something up for us.

The 4 tracks he sent us were recorded during the beginning of 2020, straight from the modular with no post processing apart from mastering. At that time, he focused on hypnotic, minimalist and heavy loops on his modular while taking inspiration from Joe Roberts’s psychedelic paintings.

The release name “Immersion” reflects exactly the feeling you have when listening to the tracks, black hole loops, evolving psychedelic textures driven by strong and groovy bass will guide you from beginning to end.

Tremor releases his debut album, ‘A Previous Encounter’ on Subsist Records. A 10 track journey into all corners of his minimalist sound, spanning from high intensity sequences to deep, cascading modulated loops.


Artist Bio: 

Tremor is a 22 year old, Glasgow based techno artist and hardware enthusiast with a very unique, minimalist sequence-driven sound. His early inspiration was drawn from artists such as Sleeparchive and DVS1 and this shows in his stripped back production. He now looks forward to showcasing his sound of techno on Subsist Records with his debut 10 track LP - ‘A Previous Encounter’.
