Eternal Screw is @ony-777's ode to Vietnam and DJ Screw.

A mixtape of songs ripe with memories of a recent visit—the first in over a decade. An homage to Robert Earl Davis Jr., aka DJ Screw, the creator of the iconic chopped and screwed sound and a cultural fixture of Houston’s rich hip-hop history.

Asian R&B and hip-hop, ambient, and city pop are wrapped up in a hazy chopped and screwed fog. Home calls out to you but she is obscured from vision. You close your eyes and rely on sound to take you back. Birds chirping, the buzz of a radio fading in and out, the hiss of an old cassette tape. That longing for home seems to stretch on and on. That distance stretching on and on. Nostalgia can feel so slow sometimes. Lose yourself in it, recall those memories. Fall asleep and dream of home.

Proceeds from Eternal Screw will be donated to support Vietnamese Mental Health Services and Sistah Space, two UK based organizations that support Asian and Black communities respectively.
