Keepsakes, the alias of British-New Zealand producer and DJ James Barrett, has been a strong and distinctive voice in techno since rising to fame through his Stygian Concrete Works and Weapons Grade Manic EPs back in 2014. Since then he has showcased his powerful and menacing, yet often cheeky and playful, productions on influential labels including HAVEN, South London Analogue Material, Perc Trax, MORD, and Mindcut.

He told us what inspired him to record this podcast for us and how his pandemic yea worked out so far:
"The past year has been a very challenging time for the entire international techno scene, but out of this situation a lot of amazing music has been made - this mix is very much a tribute to that. It's mostly made up of new and unreleased music from myself, Haven affiliates, and artists I love that was created after the pandemic hit in March 2020. Usually, when I record a mix I pull together all the vinyls I've recently purchased, hit record, and start mixing - but for this one, I really wanted to showcase the hard work and passion so many producers have put into their music despite clubs being closed. Consider it a preview of what to expect from us all when the world opens up again over the next year or so."

Born in Greece, now based in Berlin, the DJ/musician formerly known as PRXM C, has taken her dynamic sound across Europe and beyond playing at some of Berlin's best clubs as well as in Tbilisi, San Francisco, Tel Aviv, Athens are more. In addition she is also co-founder of KVETCH, an artistic safe space and collective for artists of all kinds.

Her sound is driven by heavy bass, hard rhythms and refreshing grooves, infused with 90's techno and iconic rave anthems. Her own productions also find contemporary pop elements and beyond for a distinct point of view which we are thrilled to bring you today in this great mix the artist has prepared for us.

Sugar is a Copenhagen native, producer, DJ and co-founder of Fast Forward Productions, whose raves in the city triggered the formation of a strong, fast techno focused community in the city before going on to achieve international recognition. Fast Forward's sound and Sugar's sound are one and the same: mercilessly fast, groovy, melodic and pounding. Sugar recently released his debut EP, No Sex Only Feelings, on Repro's Euromantic label, and he also contributed two tracks to Kulør 001, the acclaimed first release on Courtesy's Kulør label.
