Ethan is a Chicago based composer, music director and percussionist.  Raised on a diet of classical music, heavy metal and musical theatre, he attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign - studying music composition and percussion.  

As a composer, Ethan’s music has been been featured on national television programs including 20/20, PrimeTime, What Would You Do? and The Nate Berkus Show.  On stage, he has penned music and songs for numerous plays, as well as music (and occasionally lyrics) for 4 original musicals.  Notable performances include productions at Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre, Stage 773, American Eagle Theatre Company, Kenyon College, Slant Theatre Project and Soho Rep, among others. 

A Jeff nominated music director, Ethan’s extensive experience has seen him at the helm of musicals ranging from South Pacific to Into the Woods to The Great American Trailer Park Musical, and everything in between.  As an instrumentalist, his work has been heard in many Chicago area theatres including Chiacgo Shakespeare Theatre, Drury Lane Theatres, Theatre at the Center, Next Theatre, Noble Fool, Stage 773, Northwestern University, Chopin Theatre, Apple Tree and American Theatre Company as well as regional theatres across the country.
