Gaston Borch composed “Shadows in the Night (Misterioso)" in 1919 for publication by Carl Fischer, New York. "Shadows in the Night" is a photoplay (silent film) cue - what we now call a soundtrack. The title suggests it was intended to accompany night scenes, perhaps those where there is some skullduggery afoot. 

Though not specified in Borch’s composition, for our recording we used con sord samples for many of the string parts to get a more covered, darker, sound. Also, the instrumentation was stripped down to essential parts for a cleaner sound.
