Dave Ball, the quiet genius behind Soft Cell, has sadly passed away at the age of 66. Best known for creating the iconic sound of Tainted Love, Dave helped shape the sound of the 80s and inspired generations of musicians. This video looks back at his life, his music, and the legacy he leaves behind. From his early days in Leeds with Marc Almond to his final work on Soft Cell’s new album, this is a farewell to a true pioneer of synth pop. R.I.P. Dave Ball — thank you for the music.

Tainted Love Forever (80s New Wave Tribute)

Oslo-based producers @casablanca303music and @sommerfeldtmusic (Instagram tags)  have teamed up to deliver “Universos Paralelos”, a powerful new track inspired by the house sound of the late ’90s rave scene.

Born from an improvised jam session between the two artists, “Universos Paralelos” captures the raw spirit of the dancefloor with its driving rhythm, hypnotic synths, specially from the lead section made by the classic Polysix.

Already receiving strong support from DJs across the Norwegian and Colombian scene, this track is quickly becoming a secret weapon for high-energy house music sets around the globe.

On the 57th edition of our blogcast, we proudly present the lovely Niki Sadeki.

Niki Sadeki, resident Dj at MIA (Vancouver) and host of 'Allure' show on Frisky Radio, is pretty much a full on experience. An ecstatic diversity of sounds all in combined in 60 minutes (59:56 minutes to be precise). Eastern waves to heavy baselines to goose-bumping vocals with rhythms from all over the electronic music pool, welcome to the world of Niki Sadeki.

Who is Niki Sadeki?

Niki Sadeki is a Vancouver-based DJ and musician. From raiding her parents’ record collection when she was just a child, to becoming resident at Vancouver’s MIA, Niki has continuously been living with the music in the forefront. Within a very short time, she has put herself on the map as an up and coming DJ.

Niki conveys her expression of life to listeners and engages crowds through her live sets when she’s behind the decks , and through dozens of podcasts and studio mixes. Her sets have been described as musical journeys, charming listeners and at the same time inviting them to dive into their own individual world of sensations.

Niki is the host of Allure on Frisky Radio which airs every 3rd Wednesday of the month.

The Recreational Weekender together with @labelunknown that kicked off in August 13 till 16 2020 and turned out to be a succes as this was the first time they organized it somewhere in Friesland (Netherlands) where nature was surrounding you in combination with beautiful souls, decoration, artwork, delicious food, workshops and of course music.

A true pleasure, to perform with the artists of the label and organization of the RRW, feel free to visit their platforms and enjoy their sets of that weekend.

In this set i was playing for the last standing on the dance floor, which was pretty inspirational during the break of dawn as they were only ladies, so the choice of music this time was a delight to choose from as it was one of the most intense sets ever. Thank you ladies for these wonderful moments.
