“krypt. vol2 is the second instalment of my ‘krypt’ EP series. It’s a mixtape-like EP, named after a ‘crypt’ (underground vault holding the remains of a person); in this case it’s my musical vault with several new + old tracks I’ve had in my unreleased catalogue. It touches various genres like the previous one, from garage stuff to a bit faster house, to slowed down nu-disco. I rarely get inspired by current music, most of the time I’m listening to records at least 15-20 years old but wondering how they would sound if they were made today.

The EP also features two songs (Never Enough, L.U.V.) with my own lead vocals, which a first for my releases thus far. I really enjoy making longer music projects which is why I’ve always gravitated towards LPs and albums, as a producer and a listener. It allows you to dive in a bit deeper in the mind of the creator and see where their emotions lie across a longer body of work. A single often doesn’t have enough power to allow you to see behind the curtain.”

We're delighted to welcome one of the most exciting new prospects on the UK underground house scene to our flagship label.

Max Chapman burst onto the scene less than three years ago with a string of quality releases on highly respected imprints such as Elrow, Snatch, Viva and Lost. With a huge overall Beatport #1 under his belt last year in 'Body Jack', 2017 is shaping up to be his biggest, most successful year to date - and this EP is seriously large.

He locks horns with up and coming maestro George Smeddles here for a 2 tracker that ticks all the boxes for a solid underground cut. The lead track, 'Zulu', is a peak-time tech houser with ridiculous grooves, plenty of energy and THAT tribal vocal hook on the drop that everyone will be singing back to you upon it's release. The B-side 'Charger' slows things down a little and adds some sexy, bumpy grooves to proceedings making this a perfect, and flawlessly produced EP.

We first saw @PappsMusicUK on @ACSlater's Demo Mix Session Vol 12 and now he graces us with ‘Sauce’, a high-energy number with a bassline that rolls you right into the pitch-shifted drift of ‘Kickstart’ from Bristol-based newcomer @DarkMoonBristol. Another Demo Mix Session (Vol 13) find, @Ranger-Trucco, shines through with ‘Ear Ringing’ - a complex layering of synths alongside crafty vocal samples. Hailing from Ireland, @VibeFactory-music hits us with ‘Let The Games Begin’ where influences of funk and nostalgic sounds seal off the compilation.
