The theme and the work are in line with the signature of the DJ and producer formerly based in Rotterdam: more broken beat techno, with an enigmatic aura and details designed to bring seriousness and attention to the dance floor.

The EP, which follows “Weapons of the Weak” (2023), also released by Diffuse Reality, then shows this broken techno inspiration, with lots of meticulous percussion, spaces that remind us of Maomenos' taste for slower dance or even wobbles that point to bass music.

In a world that moves too fast, Still Tabs offers a pause, a moment to breathe, to feel, and to simply be. Gentle textures, slow-moving harmonies, and spacious soundscapes create a sonic space where healing and stillness can unfold naturally.

For this first edition, we are honored to share a mix by DJ Iodosan, a work that feels both pure and deeply personal. It’s a selection that drifts beyond the boundaries of traditional ambient, tracing its own path through moments of stillness, warmth, and quiet intensity. Some purists might argue it cannot be strictly labeled as ambient, but to us, ambient is not a genre locked in definition; it is a feeling.
