Etruria Beat founder Luca Agnelli unveils his long-awaited debut album, ‘Source Drops’ – presenting a ten- track journey through techno and beyond.
A name at the centre of Italy’s rich house and techno scene for over a decade, Etruria Beat head-honcho Luca Agnelli continues to showcase his talent as a leading DJ, producer and label boss on the international stage. With releases via a host of globally renowned labels, plus standout remixes including Moby’s iconic ‘Porcelain’, the Tuscany native’s reputation has seen him become of the genre’s leading artists when combining energetic, entrancing productions throughout his powerful DJ sets. Yet, the core of his work has always found a perfect home on his own Etruria Beat imprint, with early-July now welcoming the arrival of his highly-anticipated debut album ‘Source Drops’ – an in-depth musical story presenting growth, development, self-reflection and raw emotions via a collection of ten tracks ranging from powerful peak-time anthems through to EBM influenced cuts and slower, hypnotic productions.

Opening via the slow-blooming builds and atmospheric and waves of ‘Black Mirror’, before diving into the heady and menacing tones of ‘Mutant Circle’, the ten-track project quickly showcases a wide-reaching range of influences and nuances central to Agnelli’s development as an artist over his career. Productions such as ‘Balance’ and ‘Oxigen’ contrast with one another whilst bringing space to proceedings, guided by breaks-influenced percussion, minimal arrangements and warping leads, whilst the driving ‘Resistance’ harnesses classic techno tendencies to provide an energetic and lively, snaking journey through rich soundscapes.
Title cut ‘Source Drops’ brings that trademark Luca Agnelli energy to the heart of the project, merging scintillating melodies, acid-tinged stabs and icy hats to unveil a high-octane ride into the peak-time, whilst ‘Raw Surface’ keeps the tempo high with sweeping leads, oscillating basslines and resonant lasers. Next, ‘Omega’ spirals into an off- kilter ride through glitchy echoed vocals, crunchy percussion and rumbling low-ends, with the epic ‘Losing Control’ welcoming an infectious lead melody at its core guided by punchy kicks and slick drum licks. To close, the package veers to an eerie yet ethereal close as hazy, celestial vocal chants meet panning sirens and swooping electronics – punctuating an expansive and diverse offering from the Italian favourite and shaping up an impressive debut LP in the process.

It is already release number 24 for Luca Agnelli´s Etruria Beat , what a long and exciting journey thru sounds . Along the way , the label had the chance to discover a few new talents and help develop them . Amongst them , Venezia resident Bastinov .  For his second release with ETB , the young italian producer offers 4 amazing tracks : The ep starts with Prisma , a strong tune with a huge analogue synth repeating itself 
over a swing 909 beat , until a dreamy pad hits the break to release some more action . This tune will be featured on Sven Vath´s Sound of the Season 16 on Cocoon ) . B2 sees Andre Kronert , the man behind so many labels ( most of them are a secret )on the remix duty of the title song  . Andre chose to reinterpret the original in a very minimal way : an hypnotic chord , delays , a very strong Basic Channel influentced beat with a pad coming and going .
The flip side starts with Sphere : a solid tune based on a ring Modulator synth sounds  thru tape delays floating over a very energetic groove disturbed by strong claps and effects . To end this story , 
Bastinov delivers Triangle which has a very techno flavour from the beginning . The beat is heavy , the kick is delayed , the hat is strong . After a few minutes a Detroit influenced chord  develops and gives the tune a unexpected twist , the forefathers of techno are in the place . The music keeps on evolving with some classic strings and effects . A very strong release again for Etruria Beat thanks to our very own Bastinov !!

After Bastinov ´s  solid release, Etruria continues  his aim to promote new italian talents . Now it’s time for  Tuscany ´s duo Reform , who you could already find on our last Bud Sampler .
This 25th release  features  4 tracks, incredibly different from each other, like the Ep title says , they create a true path through interesting electronic sounds.
 
First track, “The Clear Path”,  a killer dancefloor tune, which combines great, grooved drums underlaying a strong bassline topped by two powerful and melodic synths . The first one is riffing the main melody and the other one, brings a  magic touch to the ensemble .
following is Marco Effe’s remix . The Berlin based producer gives its own special touch , with incredible reverbered drums, an arpeggiated synth based on the original, but completely reworked. A real trip, that first takes the audience thru a mental abstraction , then rudely back to the dancefloor with a punchy  techno kick / bass marriage .
We continue our journey thru sound with the third track : a second remix , this time from German producer Raphael Dincsoy . Energy , Dancefloor Hypnotic , monophonic sounds are some of the adjective to characterize this third track .
 “The Agreement” is closing the release : a cut up game of voices,  played alternately towards  a huge “moog style” synth which appears after the first drop and evolves till the track ends .
 
This is Reform, and this is how they want to express their sonic and  music path, soaked into analog machines and vinyl sound , explosive and energetic .

Toms Due is talented duo from Etruria Beat crew , they re now back once again on their home label with two bangers ‘ Urania ‘ and ‘ Caliope ‘ and two remixes . One from Nina Kraviz´s Trip label young protégé Nikita Zabelin , the second from Micol Danieli , italian newcomer artist and owner of 030´s vinyl record label. On the A side sit the two original tracks . Urania is composed of a powerful techno groove on a simple but strong chord fitting perfectly on the climax of the middle of the track . Second comes ‘ Calliope ‘ , a Toms Due signature heavy rhythm with a happy techno synth melody , a must try for all dancefloors . On B side , Nikita Zabellin shows once again his minimal approach , pure analogue sounds with a bit of darkness. Micol Danieli´s chose to use a never ending rhythm that won´t ever leave you alone , a very elaborate arrangement . Keep an eye on this Italian lady producer !

Summer is back and it is time for a new and fourth Bud Sampler. Our annual compilation sees the return of some good friends of the label alongside new faces. 

It all starts with the return of Marco Effe - after his successful remix of Reform - it was time to welcome the talented Italian artist back with some original material. 'Resolution' is your perfect techno tool : strong drums articulated around an hypnotic saturated 808 tom that gives the pulse through the whole tune . 

New comer Alignment is up next with a more melodic but still very straight tune . The synths of 'Rain' are shuffled in a way that will make the crowd jump. Manent comes next with 'Tomahawk'. A broken kick and repetitive chord are all the ingredients needed for the perfect Etruria sound.

Alex Bilancini offers us 'Leomard', a classic techno number in a pure Detroit vain. Influence of Hood and Dixon can be heard. Finally Uron and Caremajor's 'Noosphere' presen ts a more subtle sound, dreamy with soothing synthesizers running on 808 based loops. 

Once again our Bud Sampler will make you dance, dream and delight in the music.

This is Alignment ´s first release on Etruria Beat , an Italian dj and producer based in Berlin. This EP, composed of two original tracks and two remix, starts with the main track Gravity, characterized by a 90's dry kick mixed with a heavy sub, here the synth riff is always present and go along with some background coming and going pads . Black Hole is based on a frisky and overwhelming bass riff that opens and closes for almost the entire song accompained by a pad that create dark atmospheres which will trap you down in a black hole. Avgusto remix sounds really industrial, characterized by massive reverbs and low background synths. Finally we have the remix of Reform, where the main synth doesn't change and the well structured track id defined by break/drop that will leave you on suspense.

Next up on Etruria Beat is the Dutch duo Hush & Sleep, who deliver a stunning two track EP with Farrago and Marco Effe on remix duty.
The EP starts off on a joyous note with the track Mirth. Staying true to its title, an old English word for high spirits, the main melody takes you on a carefree ride supported by a stomping kick and dreamy pads.
Farrago takes a more stripped down approach with his version. He builds on the dreamy pad, making it serve as a warm blanket over his signature tight percussion.
Contradicting Mirth, the second original slowly drags you into a feeling of hysteria, hence the name. Taking their signature kick as the foundation, Hush & Sleep use a haunting melody that lingers in the background, setting an eerie mood.
Marco Effe’s remix is a deep techno groover. Taking the main melody and twisting it into his own wonderful creation that sends you off on a journey into time and space.

The title track with its violent kick and rough bass receives not one, but two remixes from UK techno pioneer Ben Sims. Two different interpretations in his Spacey and Jackin’ remixes that both deliver intense grooves, spacey synths and thumping beats.

Alex Bilancini returns to Etruria Beat following the success of 2018's 'Crack of Doom' EP, with his new 'Oblivion' EP featuring three cavernous cuts backed by an impressive remix from talented French producer Blicz. Title track 'Oblivion' combines heavy kick drums and marching percussion, whilst sweeping builds and releases of energy and suspense throughout maximise the production's dancefloor impact, whilst 'Segments' is dominated by eerie and haunting pads, escalating in the break to provide an epic feeling to the ensemble. Berlin based DJ/producer Alignment returns to Etruria Beat this May to deliver ‘Interference’, accompanied by two commanding and powerful remixes from Luca Agnelli and Madrid’s Regal.
 
With releases to date on the likes of Involve Records, Voxnox and Etruria Beat, with his last release on the Italian label coming in the form of his ‘Gravity’ EP in 2016, Berlin’s Alignment ranks amongst the shortlist of names to keep an eye on when it comes to emerging producers within the techno sphere. 
For his return to Etruria, the Italian steps up to reveal two high-octane cuts whilst Etruria founder Luca Agnelli and Involve boss turn in impressive interpretations of the lead track. 
Opening the EP, title cut ‘Interference’ combines 90’s acid sounds with trance-tinged synths to reveal a production primed for the dancefloor, before handing over control to Luca Agnelli who introduces hypnotic and suspenseful builds and breaks to proceedings, whilst switching up the track’s lead lines to create a warping journey.
