Info: Following on from ULG001, this release series looks to explore a range of club-focussed styles and sonic capabilities from the Bristol-based producer; this time bringing forth two sound-system ready bass-fwd rollers. These tracks are influenced by the 90s dub-techno sounds of Berlin and the early 00s dubstep sounds of London, and the merging evolution of these two distinctive styles... Smooth Incline is a slow burning dub-laced two-stepper, with high impact low frequency foundations that smoothly legate below percussive chord mutations. Crisp and high fidelity without lacking in weight and flavour. Long Haul draws from a similar sound palette, slowing things down to a more spacious pace and leaving room for a vast arrangement of textures and engulfing meditative basslines.

Familjen, one of the super stars on the Swedish electronic scene, made a name for himself even abroad with the monster hit “Det snurrar i min skalle”, a few years ago. Here he puts another of the super stars in Sweden, Jocke Berg from the band kent, in a really flourishing 90’s euro sound. A really Detroit-like playful and really simple version for the floor.

Upcoming stars Boeoes Kaelstigen are masters of production that makes you think of futuristic mind travelling and aerodynamic. Look out for their debut album in 2010. And who is Flars? Flars - born in 1977. Real name Fredrik. Livs in Rotebro. Belongs to "Trinity Sound System". Once called Flash. Absolutely fantastic DJ. Short unpolished hair cut and best dressed in hip-hop uniform. Seems to like green and does have a telephone nr.

8. Caught in a Riot (feat. New Moscow) (Pellarin’s Ritz Mix)
Pellarin used to be in charge of the machines and production in Danish band Printer. He stayed up one night, drank some of his beloved whiskey and came up with this smoothly ticking remix. Like a line on a piece of paper. Elegant and oh so beautiful.

9. Caught in a Riot (Karachi Reduction)
Adam Lundberg commutes to Berlin and the grayness in his music makes us dwell over ramshackle squat houses and dripping water. His take is epic, atmospheric and oh so beautiful in all its darkness. In over 16 minutes he digs down into a deep deep cave, so still you can see the scents.

Per Hammar is a rising star. Don’t be surprised to find him on the bill wherever you are. He is a master of techy almost progressive smooth dance euphoria. This instrumental take of Caught in a Riot makes us think of open seas and night dancing on white beaches.

Houseclap is an extension of Swedish house collective Spånka NKPG. As we know Spånka NKPG they have always danced around in the neighborhoods of electronica, jazz-house and filter disco, this is no exception. Except that it is really meant for the floor. So put your hand up, and swing!

The likewise crazy as genius Finn Tomi Kiiosk cuts the original in pieces and clamps them back together in big chunky beats. Completely analogue and brilliant, he will make you dance your way into your worst Koskenkorva experience.

Kite is Christian Berg (Yvonne, Strip Music) and Nicklas Stenemo (The Moe, Melody Club). Together they make new wave/synth pop in their own special way. They turn “Caught in a Riot” to a duet and bring in something that sounds like a children’s choir.

17. Caught in a Riot (feat. New Moscow) (Data80 Remix)
Swedish electronic producer Håkan Lidbo, has among many things remixed Depeche Mode with great success. He goes under many names. His moniker Data80 can be found on many compilations, among them some from French babies Institubes. Håkan nourish the 80’s in this blipping poppy bon-bon remix.

18. Caught in a Riot (feat. New Moscow) (Vapnet Remix)
Vapnet may be Sweden’s best pop band and this is the sweetest treatment of an electronic track you might ever hear. Vapnet takes a look at the song and realizes that it might as well be an English version of one of their own folk pop tracks and make sure that we hear it as they do. Flutes, xylophones and a tossing beat. Listen and smile. For the indie pop dance floor.

With the 10th release of our colored vinyl series we bring you the Decade Dubs. Bristol based new artist El Choop opens the edition with pulsating chords and synths in his track Unknown Landscape. Italian producer Hydergine takes you on a psychedelic mind trip with his energetic deep techno track Blue State Of Mind.

The flip side starts with Etui Records label head Insect O. With his dirty chords and wired echoes he is telling you the mystic story about the Ancient Architects. And finally Monomood returns to the label and proves his musically diversity. A mellow brass and a deep bass will give you goosebumps while dancing on the afterhour or just sitting in a smokey jazz bar.

The artwork is done by graphic designer and musician Daniel Madlung aka Dandytracks. It´s based on a photo of the Sea of Sand at Indonesia´s Mt. Bromo volcano, taken by Insect O.

ORN023 Rhauder feat. Paul St. Hilaire - Sidechain (Original Mix)

Mouche is a Nuremberg-based label that tends to lean toward dub techno and techno and every else in between. Helmed by Micha Klang and heavily influenced by the likes of Basic Channel, the label has already played host to a veritable array of top-class talent since its conception in 2017, with Chris Carrier, Ivano Tetelepta, Merv and Tim Shuffle contributing to their story so far. Very much a family label, this is emphasised by the fact that each producer perks up on their latest, their first VA record and one that speaks volumes of a label clearly destined for great things. 

Opening up the release is the infectious strands of Ivano Tetelepta & Benito Martino (Martino being the only newcomer to the label here), courtesy of ‘Spider Walk’. A dub-heavy, minimal inclined track that’s all about the power of repetition, this one keeps a narrow focus throughout, all the way keeping us locked thanks to its weighty, downtrodden vibes. Up next is Chris Carrier, who opts for a different narrative on ‘Bubble Sphere’, The prolific Frenchman has long been known for his ability to switch up styles, and his contribution here is definitely one that showcases his techno aesthetic. Bleak but captivating, it’s a dexterous weapon that’s been designed to keep dancefloors ticking over at a brisk pace. 

The B side gets underway courtesy of TM Shuffle + Ittara, whose track here is undoubtedly one of the releases’s most pivotal moments. Another track that’s never lacking in atmosphere, this one glides along quite brilliantly, slowly picking up pace before a suspense-filled conclusion that leaves the listener yearning for more. A really enthralling gem, it sets us up nicely for the EP’s swansong, Merv’s ‘Edge’. The Danish production duo (consisting of Brian Oldenborg and Jan Christiansen) don’t give much away online, preferring instead to let the music do the talking. His contribution here, ‘Edge’, is an unrelenting, uncompromising cut of the sort that neatly encapsulates what the label is all about. Solid, for-the-floor dub techno of the type that doesn’t mess about, it culminates a killer EP with some grace.

Berlin-based music software technician by day and producer's producer by night, Iron Curtis (AKA Johannes Paluka), returns to Office Recordings for his third release on the label entitled 'And The Temper' EP.

Following his 'Upstream Color' LP late last year, And The Temper explores introverted tempos and timbres, while traversing a diversity of themes contained within six tracks, portraying a ying/yang of world-class analogue and digital engineering.

From the meticulously programmed acid lines and dissonant chords of '010103', through to the infectiously groovy and damn right funky-and-ridiculous 'Mars (Epoch Mix)', the EP closes out with a weightless cushion entitled 'Strategie '98', highlighting Paluka's on-the-fly jams and passion for purist machine funk!

IronCurtis - And The Temper EP - Office Recordings 16  (Preview)

Following previous releases on Shall Not Fade and KOMPAKT, Soela will release her debut on Australia-via-Berlin imprint Nerang Recordings with the ‘Downfall’ EP.
The EP showcases the studio and creative mastery of the Russia-born and Berlin-based artist, who has years of experience as a pianist and vocalist under her belt.
Spanning five tracks, Downfall EP sees Soela team up with Berlin-based DJ and producer Module One, and Nerang head honcho Whipr Snipr. The release also features a remix from Ukrainian artist, Saturated Color.
The title track is deep house at its finest, showcasing otherworldly atmospheres, serene chords and Soela’s blissful piano, which has been a staple throughout her productions. Up next, ‘Cabinet’ featuring Module One features echoing, magical synths and thumping percussion working in perfect harmony. 
On the flip side, ‘Golden Hour’ is the quintessential afterhours track that would be at home at daytime raves and summer festivals alike. 
The Saturated Colour remix gives the title track a darker twist, adding an acid house synthline that’s in perfect synch with the track’s dreamy atmospheres and enchanting beats.
Wrapping things up, ‘Hide From Love’ sees Soela team up with Whipr Snipr to deliver a piano meets acid house tune that beckons us to get down on the dancefloor and dance with our eyes closed.

Nerang Recordings will release the ‘Downfall EP’ both on vinyl and digitally on February 21, 2020.
