‘PROTO’ takes on a trio of unique forms, two supplied by Pan-Pot, whilst Canadian underground legend Mike Shannon delivers the third. “We wanted to do something special for the 20th anniversary of Pan-Pot, so we jumped back into the studio with our friend Hugh Betcha, who we produced ‘Charly’ with back in 2007, released on Mobillee. Our very first ‘hit’ track that received international recognition” says Pan-Pot. 

The original mix of ‘PROTO’ wastes no time in getting you re-acquainted with Pan-Pot’s vigorous production style, echoing the robustly energetic DJ performances that have seen them attain endless global acclaim. Orbiting the ominous vocal centrepiece, a rhapsody of powerful drums, coarse industrial percussive drive and the modulating envelopes of a savage lead bassline all combine to serve a pulsating peak-time slammer. “The lyrics of 'PROTO' are the continuation of the original ‘Charly’ track. Just have a listen....’ adds Pan-Pot. 

The ‘Stripped’ mix offers a dynamically contrasting persona, built around the hollows of thudding kicks, crisp hat grooves, an acidic bell-type synth lead and a mind-bending sine wave that will challenge your ability to stay on beat with the track’s spurring pace. 

Mike Shannon’s remix of ‘PROTO’ takes things deep, groovy and swinging on a Minimal tip. Throwing the track from left to right from the outset, its combination of chunky drums, endless layers of percussive movement and rhythmic sub-bass provide a solid core for a kaleidoscope of subtle musical accents that flow throughout the mix. It’s playful, cool, and underground and will keep you on your toes from start to finish.

The second part of the FORTE Remixes of Pan-Pot’s critically acclaimed collection of singles from 2023 is a sonic journey of reworks by four remarkable remixers: Reinier Zonneveld, Sama’ Abdulhadi, Ramon Tapia and Nojre, each reimagining Pan-Pot's iconic tracks with their unique flair.

Reinier Zonneveld's remix of "UTOPIA" immerses listeners in a fusion of classical finesse and relentless techno essence. Infusing the track with epic melodies and pounding warehouse beats, Zonneveld crafts a mesmerizing experience, presenting what he’s best known for. Mysterious lead intertwine with a gummy bassline, while a deep male vocal commands the break, culminating in a tension-filled drop. Following, Sama Abdulhadi's remix of "PROTO" pulses with a psytrance-like energy, showcasing her distinctive perspective as the first Palestinian DJ on the international stage. Playful rhythms merge with hypnotic basslines, accompanied by intriguing modulated vocals and dynamic rally car sounds. The third remix is by Ramon Tapia, who returned to Second State after his track on the prestigious SUM series, delving into the darker shadows of techno with his rework of "PROTO". Haunting lead melodies and deep male vocals resonate amidst siren wails and crunchy percussion, building tension before the explosive drop. Industrial- like percussions and a stomping kick drive the track create an immersive, atmospheric experience. Closing the chapter is Nojre's rework of "CORE“. The young producer, who recently had his debut EP on Second State, blurres the lines between techno and house, delivering a quintessential techno cut with melodic percussive basslines and dominant leads. The track's energetic groove and breaky interludes elevate the dancefloor experience, offering a joyful journey through sound

Nightcode was born during a blackout in a neon-drenched city, when Pan-Pot, deep in a late-night modular synth session, accidentally intercepted a signal from a defunct satellite looping alien rave transmissions. As the data warped their machines, every dial and fader moved on its own, channeling a hypnotic rhythm no human had ever programmed. The storm outside cracked in sync with the beat, and the studio lights pulsed like they were under the track's spell. Desperate to capture it before it vanished, they recorded the entire session through a toaster, a walkman, and sheer panic. By dawn, the signal was gone-but Nightcode lived, encoded with a frequency not even they fully understood.

My new 3 track EP “Nemesis” is here and shows once again what artistic freedom can show for facets.

The title track "Nemesis" is a dark, melodic anthem that conveys dystopian vibes in a futuristic way. Track no. 2 is “Soulreaver". An absolutely crazy pitch and grain delay synth that splinters into millions of little fragments at some moments is driven by a shaking, almost hyperventilating beat. The EP closes with the track “Out Of Tune”. This summer anthem unites 3 worlds of electronic music and deliberately focuses nostalgically on the past without losing sight of the present.

Biografie : 

Eugen Menjaev

When only 12 years old, Eugen Menjaev started producing his own tracks and experimented with a cheap program with a few loops layered over each other.
A year later, while other kids his age still played with cars, he started working more professionally with Fruity Loops. At this young age, his love of the music was born. 
2009 he started to produce Minimal / House / Hardcore and Hardstyle tracks. By the age of 16, he had over 600 different open fun-projects .

His love and passion for the music inspired him to look into different genres and he finally found his big love at the age of 17, Dark Techno. 
The dark mysterious sounds and heavy kicks of this musical genre fascinated him straight away, and he was deeply influenced and inspired by Hefty and Silvano Scarpetta. 
Since then he has worked hard and developed his style, his music illustrating the dark and disturbing side of the world we live in.

In 2015 Eugen Menjaev had his breakthrough year, his tracks arrived nearly every Country all over the World and he played in clubs all over Southern Germany, including Cologne, Ostfriesland  ,Niedersachsen ,Nature One and also Switzerland.

In 2017 he achieved his dream by being signed to Heftys label "Darker Sounds" - he knew this label would fit his style perfectly and help him improve and evolve his music.
Also that year he got ranked under the top100 Dark techno producers in the world and his EP "13 Geister" (with Kevin Wesp, Mike Maas and Adrian Richter remixes) got published in the 
Faze Magazin with a rate from 9/10.

Meanwhile he´s in other big labels too, like ReWasted from Sebastian Groth, Section-7even from Jason Little, Bonehead Records from Sutura, Freshcut from Marika Rossa, Hardwandler Records from Kai Pattenberg and more.
There he have releases with big artists and his idols as remixers which he connected with the years.

2023 Eugen started with designing and created his own collections with the same deep-darkstyle like his music. Meanwhile he opened his own online shop where he sells his collections and also his merch.
