Outgoing European Commission president José Manuel Barroso was asked to give evidence at the European’s top Court of Justice in Luxembourg today (07.07.2014) over a tobacco lobbying scandal called "Dalligate". Malta’s former European Commissioner John Dalli was fired in 2012 for supposed ambiguous relations with the tobacco industry. Dalli has been waiting for two years for Barroso to fully explain his decision to suddenly dismiss him from the European Commission.
