Ok before we get into the music we need to get serious for a second... We started off as a free record label on Soundcloud, a place for likeminded artists who didn't have a platform to get their music heard. Box of Cats truly was something built from friendships & the love of music and we never expected it to grow as it has done. But as label owners we kept pushing forward, leaping into the unknown.

Box of Cats was the collective idea of Jak Z, Tom EQ, Jeff Doubleu, Kyle Watson, Wongo & Marc Spence. We integrated inspiration from so many genres that we felt passionate about and that's why Box of Cats has its own sound. 8+ years on so much has changed, but the ethos hasn't. We support underground music thats left of centre, quirky and fun. We truly feel like we have represented this ethos with every single release we have put out, and today we mark our 200th.

For our 100th release, the label owners came together to write a special record to celebrate this moment, and they have again. For our 200th release they've brought together their favourite ideas, mashing them into one song.

Pavement Special is more than just some guys trying to write a house record. It's a bond, a promise and a guarantee to make you dance now and far into the future.

I started experimenting with vinyl when i was around 13 years of age, I had  my fathers belt driven turntable, played around with scratching and manipulating speed of sounds, eventually hooked up the deck to a cheap component look-a-like that had a built in belt drive, i would switch from TT selection to AUX to cut the tracks back and forth....good times. 

I still love my decks, although enjoy the creation process of music altogether, Tech House is my focus, however, hiphop, dubstep, drum and bass or something so very experimental is always at play. Dark is my taste, funky is my fun, psychedelic is the balance. enjoy!
