→ Second episode in the NON-TRANCE series, once again led by DEMO affiliate @fredoleboss. For this session he decided to dive into the repetitive aspect of video games OST and their reminiscence in the contemporary music scene. OSTs are used to create the soundscape of video games, giving the visuals an audible continuation while dealing with a storage and computer power constraint, which often resulted in the same loop playing for hours. Often melancholic and meditative, video games OST have had a major influence on modern music producers such as James Ferraro, Oklou or Mumdance. The aim of this show is to depict the link between old OSTs and nowaday musician’s work, from the limited digital-orchestras of the 8 bit era to the proust Madeleine it now represents for these artists and their listeners, both embracing video games soundscapes and their legacy.

This is the Gyre.
