This Isn't Built to Last

Sometimes we are on the run from the things that do us good. From the best relationships, from the best health discipline, from the best longterm investments. We want things easy, but easy makes us bloated rather than balanced and healthy. 

Jesus came that we might be well. We are running from Him, we prefer to be bloated. He is the light, we prefer the dark. He is wise, we prefer quick fixes. This is the story of the prodigal son. Don't run from those 'hard' but good things. Jesus said that if we lay down our lives we will find it. It's when we make those sacrifices that we find life fully.

Improvised worship piano moments in my Dad's workshop. I would wake up at 5am, wrap up warm and cycle 20 minutes to newtec place, a little cul-de-sac in Cowley, Oxford where I'd let the spirit guide improvised piano performances. It was majestically silent at 5:30-6 when I'd arrive just right for the sensitive recording I would undertake.
