Evan Sox is a Film Composer and Sound Designer based in New York City. His first feature film score was the documentary ’To Decadence with Love, Thanks for Everything!', which won “Best Louisiana Feature” at the 2020 New Orleans Film Festival and has screened at festivals across the U.S.—including San Francisco’s Frameline, the oldest and largest queer film festival in the world. 
He also scored ‘InAPPlicable’ (2020), which has been selected into 19 festivals to date. 
Evan has also produced custom music for a variety of clients such as the ‘Proud Voices’ podcast, Tulane University, 3 Piece Entertainment, and The Greater Gulf State Fair. He is currently working on another feature film score that is soon-to-be announced.
Evan has always had a connection to the emotional qualities of music and harmony, discovering his talent for making melodies when he found an old workstation keyboard in his family’s attic. He was completing a Spanish degree at the University of South Alabama at the time, and he immediately connected with the Video Production Department there to begin scoring short films for students.
While working part time as a Spanish Interpreter, Evan worked tirelessly to develop his skills and craft his signature dreamy and nostalgic synth sound, creating dozens of custom tracks for commercials and promotional videos along the way.
In 2020, Evan earned degrees in Audio Production and Sound Design from the Institute of Production & Recording in Minneapolis and began his career as a full-time Film Composer and Sound Designer. Since then, he has continued to write music for ads and has scored two feature films and many other short films. Evan lives in New York City with his husband, Cesar, and is always searching for new and exciting projects.
