Physically unreleased material from the years 1989 and 1990. All songs composed, performed, and produced by Stephen Ugo Rosin. Heaven and Satan is recorded in 1990 using an Akai MG1214 12-track 1/2” tape recording console. The Ultimate Om, Soul to Soul, and Family Values were recorded in 1989 on a TASCAM 244 cassette porta-studio. Original mixes were to VHS-HiFi, with those recordings digitally remastered in 2001.

Italian artist Marco Pellegrino has grown to become a quite indispensable part of our community. Performing under the alias Ancut, he has carved out an enviable space for himself by way of his own Discarded Gems imprint and resulting DJ booking schedule. Based in Berlin, Marco is also in constant demand for mastering skills too and Analogcut is a very well known name in the underground and his name adorns many of our scenes’ vinyl artworks.

As you might expect from an artist of Ancut’s calibre and proven track record as a producer and mastering engineer, his recording for our InSession series is immaculately programmed. From the dreamlike intro that gradually melts away to reveal hypnotic thread that runs through much of the mix. Crispy percussion and a multi dimensional sound palette that feeds into the stream from a multitude of angles produces an intense and otherworldly experience. Soon getting up to speed Ancut shows why he is as revered as a DJ as he is an artist.

Episode 10 welcomes Modus Operandi, the Amsterdam-based DJ and selector whose deep-rooted passion for vinyl has shaped his sound and identity. Having spent several years working at the iconic record store KillaCutz, he developed his skills and a refined understanding of sound, community, and the culture surrounding it, a foundation that continues to shape his approach behind the decks.

Drawing inspiration from the early house and tech house eras, his sets weave together rolling rhythms, tight kicks, and warm, driving basslines, always guided by a precise touch and an instinct for flow. Over the years, he has played at some of the Netherlands most respected venues, including Bret, Radion and Shelter, as well as international stages like Butik Festival.

This vinyl-only mix feels like stepping into an enchanted forest at dusk. Each layer drifts and deepens, wrapping you in a hypnotic haze that blurs dream and reality. As it builds, it draws you gently into its darker depths.

#10 ☻ Modus Operandi

Rob Pearson's latest EP delivers four peak-time cuts, blending his signature sound with fresh production twists. After a strong 2025 of vinyl and digital releases, this collection highlights why Rob remains a key figure in underground house and techno.

The EP kicks off with 'Turnin' Things Up', where classic tech house bass drops meet precise, modern production. Rolling subs and tight drums create a groove that's both nostalgic and razor-sharp. Chopped vocal samples ask, 'Exactly what do you do?'-as Rob cranks the energy all the way up to 11.

Next, 'Tarantula Bites' takes a darker turn. Inspired by a surreal Spanish holiday, where Rob was scooping tarantulas out of a pool, the track drips with eerie warehouse vibes and haunting textures. It's a moody, atmospheric journey that feels both natural and unnerving.

'Absorb The Vibration' shifts gears with a slightly reduced tempo and a stripped-back approach. A hypnotic bassline and meticulous drum programming lock you in, while warped FX swirl around a dense, sub-heavy low end. This track is all about tension and release, crafted for heads-down moments on the dancefloor.

Closing the EP, 'The Way You Do It' is playful and deep tech-infused. A bouncy bassline and crisp percussion are laced with Rob's trademark warped sounds and vocal chops, creating an unpredictable but groove-driven vibe. It's a late-night weapon built for peak-time sessions.
Together, these four tracks showcase Rob's ability to balance underground grit with refined production, making this EP a must-have for any serious selector.
