XXIII brings together brazilian and european artists to promote this new sub-genre in Europe and squeeze some of that funk150bpm into the clubs.

Megatron started as a soundsystem wall (paredão de som) in the periphery of São Paulo. 4x3m of speakers and strong lights made the this one of the most well-known soundsystems.
Fastly, the heavy bass of funk was felt on Megatron speakers, mixed with the very machinery sounds. São Paulo's new generation funk mcs took over the name and called it Megatron

XXIII // MEGATRON brings together european and brazillian artists and their approach to Megatron.

Ckrono - Beat Do Prodigy

We can hardly believe it ourselves, but our little label just turned fifteen. In human terms it would mean we´re teenagers in full swing, in dance music terms it´s like we´re silver agers. In the fast paced world of dance we´ve seen a lot of trends come and go. We´ve also seen artist careers rising quickly to the top and then suddenly crumbling. And despite the profound changes in the musical landscape, we´re still here and people still play our music. One of the reasons is that we stuck to our original aim: To release exciting music from around the world. And the interest in local music styles from outside the Anglo-Saxon cultural sphere has risen.

Since Man 01, the "Não Wave - Brazilian Post Punk 1979-1988" compilation, we were especially keen on blending local roots with the global in music, which has become a mega trend in pop and dance music. When we started the label in 2005 the internet was still a privilige of the Northern hemisphere and people were still buying vinyls and CDs.

Since we can´t throw a big celebration for our anniversary due to pandemic restrictions, we decided to put together a compilation with remixes of fifteen tracks from our catalogue. We asked young and upcoming remixers that grew up with the Man Recordings sound over all these years, to put their hand onto selected tracks and rework them 2020 style. 

The line up is great and the remixes even greater. The "15 Years Of Man Recordings" compilation features reworks by Ckrono, Lorenzo BITW, 2Pekes, Rolv.K, Kensaye, KG, Don Low, Bianca Oblivion and So Vital amongst others. There´s some super fresh takes on our former releases, and some solid club compatible bangers. They all resonate that Man Recordings is here to stay!

“PANGO” is a sound experience based on the aphrodiaspore identity together with the Brazilian one, bringing together several references that EVEHIVE has been exploring throughout his career.  The artist's mini album has 6 tracks and her main single that bears the name of the project, has hot elements from Gqom, among other tracks also mixing the elements of Rio Funk, Vogue Beat, Kuduro, Afrobeat and House.

The EP is a good choice to kill the nostalgia of the hot dance floors, but while we still can't fill the clubs around the world, we recommend to get some space in your home and playing "PANGO".

“PANGO” é uma experiência sonora fincada na identidade afrodiaspórica somada a brasileira, reunindo várias referências que Eve vem explorando ao longo de sua carreira. O mini álbum da artista tem 6 faixas e seu principal single que leva o nome do projeto, tem elementos quentes de Gqom, entre outras faixas misturando também os elementos do Funk 150bpm, Vogue Beat, Kuduro, Afrobeat e House.

O EP é uma boa pedida para matar as saudades das pistas quentes, mas enquanto ainda não podemos lotar os dancehalls mundo afora, recomendamos afastar os móveis da sala e dar play em "PANGO".
