Welcome to the 3rd Birthday edition of my radio show! It's hard to believe that three years have passed since I started this show during the Pandemic. I'm still loving broadcasting to you all, and I hope that the show continues to spread happiness and positivity.

This week's special guest is a true legend of the disco world, MICHAEL GRAY. I'm a huge fan of his work, and have played many of his tracks on my show. Get ready for an incredible mix from the man!

Michael Gray is a hugely respected and established British DJ and music producer, best known for his hits ‘The Weekend’ & ‘Borderline’ He is also one half of the dance music production and remixing duo 'Full Intention' who have been at the forefront of Dance music since the early 90s.

London-based Michael is one of the most in-demand Artists on the global dance music scene today. Having relaunched his solo career as Michael Gray in 2018 to pursue his original love of Disco, Michael has already become the world #2 Soul/Funk/Disco Artist on Traxsource in 2019 - an incredible achievement and a worthy accolade for Michael's world-class production skills. Throw into the mix awesome DJ sets at the best events in the UK, and a host of chart topping tracks with Jon Pearn as Full Intention, and you start to see the full picture of one of the UK's most talented Artists. 

He has DJ’d all over the world from MOS in London to Hi (for Glitterbox) & Pacha in Ibiza and as far and wide as Poland, Germany, The Philippines, Australia, Russia, Brazil, Georgia, Spain and The Netherlands.

Michael also presents a monthly Radio show (broadcast both on Mi-Soul and Mi-House Radio) on the last Saturday of every month at 9 11 pm - a mix of the best upfront Disco & House, full of unreleased gems, the occasional forgotten classic and guest mixes from the likes of Dr Packer and Mousse T.

After the huge crossover success of the original back in 2006, the artist formerly known as Joey Negro, Dave Lee has reworked one of the biggest tracks of his career into an original Disco anthem. Keeping the peak time energy up but injecting more Chic-esque Funk than you can shake your rump to, there was only ever one person who could elevate the original into a modern disco classic. Taka Boom’s powerful vocals still soar away but this time it’s over crisp Clav licks, effortless rhythm Guitar, sublime Piano, and sharp Synth work all underpinned by some sultry disco bass guitar action.
Unlike many crossover hits 'Make a Move on Me' hasn’t been overly remixed, in fact, this is the first remix since it hit the pop chart. Irresistible dancefloor action all round here, an essential Z Records release.

for this one I decided to mix things up a bit, indulge myself and do the whole two hours myself! So we went on a little journey, some moody slow mo, hip hop, funk and soul, into some boogie, a bit of a jazzy section the building up into some housier territory to finish on a couple of bangers. Very enjoyable it was too, except the full, double USB/ XDJ crash about 25 mins in. I've spliced it together as best I can so you don't have to listen to the awkward silences!

VOYAGE MUSICAL 40

The Black Light Disco Show lounges in the hammock that is the myhouseradio.fm airwaves - swinging on the summer breeze and keeping one eye open under our wide-brimmed sun hats for water pistol-wielding punks. 

This week, we had a bit of a crisis here at BLD Towers. Our new outdoor Gazebo Bandstand blew off the roof garden in the weekend storms, taking out a vintage ice cream van and injuring several Deliveroo riders when it landed in the street below. Goz and Esteban have arranged a charity gig tonight to raise funds to replace the ice cream van, and so we’ll be broadcasting all the action live from the Montpellier Ball Rooms across the street. 

First up is Goz, who has delved into the crates to put together an incredible set of twists and turns featuring tracks from Dave Gerrard, Lego Edit, Amp Fiddler, Dusty Donuts and Crazy P among others. Plenty of funk, hip hop and boogie in this one - just the ticket. 

For the second hour Esteban continues the summer theme with a melting pot of sounds, styles and rhythms. Served up on the platters for this session are choice cuts from the likes of Pete Josef, Ukokos & Jabco, Jo Paciello, Copycat and LTJ XPerience.

Growing up as a child in MD DC and VA in the  Early 80/90"s. I Start D Jing at house parties and throwing private parties to make money. 

I always love music. I got my first Pioneer receiver and technique turntables when I was in high school for Xmas from my mother.

I would always ask my best friend Gerald Frisby RIP to use his mixer when I had Djing Gig because I couldn't afford one.

I first fell in love with disco music at my junior high school prom at a night club in Baltimore called Odell's. I would buy all the latest and hottest single albums to play for my sets. That when I became a house head for LIFEEEEE and I was hooked on it.
