GC047 - Brothers  In Arts 🇫🇷

Duo Dj / Producers from the city of Lyon (FR), these brothers of heart are real enthusiasts! Especially in the NuDisco and Jackin House genres, BIA loves groove, retro sounds and festive sounds!

2021 saw the Brothers In Arts reach new heights as they became no. 28  in the top 100 Nu Disco artists and 36 of the top 100 Jackin House artists, on Traxsource.

This is no surprise considering the 2021 they had with releases on Tropical Disco Records, Little Jack, Good Stuff Recordings and Hive.  Their EP "Believe In You" for Midnight Riot, also included remixes by YamWho? and Tommy Glasses.

Not only that but their collaboration with Boogietraxx, entitled "Mango Bongo Guitars" on Super Spicy Records has received a great success and should be released on vinyl in 2022.

With plenty more releases already lined up for 2022, the Brothers certainly have a big year to come!

tracks in the process! Having lost her DJ residencies like so many other DJ’s due to the pandemic, Charly quickly decided to act on 
her creativity by jumping into the world of music production!

Charly's first forays into making music coupled with her broad music knowledge and influence has helped her gain instant recognition! Signing her tracks to the likes of Tropical Disco, 
Plastik People, Kolour Recordings, Nervous Records, Blockhead Recordings, Smashing Trax, Disco Balls, Groovy Riddim and more! With plenty of support from many reputable DJ’s, numerous high chart positions including number 1’s. Charly is already accomplishing her goal by connecting with people through her 
music. She’s on a mission to bring people together; especially during these tough times and she’ll continue to strive to make people groove and feel happy!

2022 shows no let up with Charly working regularly to bring you her unique forays into Deep House, Disco, Afro and Jazz House!

Australia's Ken@Work (@kenneth-walker-33) is a DJ / producer who is very aptly named, he is one seriously prolific artist with a warm and inviting sound which always hits the right spots. Between his work for the legendary DMC and his own releases he's consistently hitting the upper reaches of the download charts. He's also an interesting character with a long history as well, check out his recent interview with Lenny Fontana on his True House Stories series to get a bit more flavour of what Ken@Work is all about.

Ken is also behind the Work It Radio show which is syndicated across the globe. This week the show hits the 100th episode mark and to celebrate Ken has pulled together a selection of tracks from some of the scene's biggest hitters which are so fresh that they don't actually have artwork yet. Episode 80 sees me husky voiced and bringing the vibes as best I can, with a selection of mid tempo rollers, sexy slow mo numbers and banging promos. There’s my new one on And Friends Records in there, plus new bits from Andy Buchan, Moodena, Ezirk and more.

In hour 2 it’s my great pleasure to introduce a DJ whose sets I’ve really been digging over the last 6 months or so. She’s called Sbeen Around, and is from Reykjavik in Iceland. She’s got an exceptional talent for mixing up the smoothest, deepest vibes and I’m pleased to say she’s delivered in style for this mix. She brings us 63 minutes of beautiful deep and soulful house. The whole mix is lovely, but there are a couple of tracks right in the middle that just raise the roof.

In “I Don’t Want Money (I Just Want to Love)”, Tim Maia makes it clear that love is more important than any material possession.
The chorus, "In a way, I don't want money, I want sincere love," demonstrates a stance against the pursuit of wealth, especially relevant in the 1970s, when Brazil was undergoing major social and cultural changes. Tim Maia reinforces that happiness lies in affection and reciprocity, as highlighted in the verse, "When we love, we don't think about money, we just want to love." This direct and striking message made the song an anthem about the value of love, spanning generations and remaining relevant in concerts and re-recordings.
