Most of my hour was taken up by mellow, deep electronic grooves, gradually cranking things up to squeeze in a couple of new bits from me right at the end. Hour 2 was all about my very special guest Mannix, boss of Dafia Records. He’s treated us to a very fine mix of disco, nu-disco and classy, jazzy house vibes, with a few from him and a few nice edits of tracks you should know. Truly lovely stuff!

What's shakin' funky people?! We are back with Volume 217 of the series and we take a short trip to beautiful Vancouver Island to welcome our good friend and super dope selector, DJ PRIMITIVE to SRS!!

There’s nothing ancient about Primitive’s sound or technique.  Pushing the DJ and rave lifestyle in the Pacific Northwest since 2000, supporting the community by creating a slew of residencies, coordinating gigs for other DJs, promoting shows and developing the culture through platforms like Party People Sound Solutions, Primitive Hustle, Footwork Entertainment and PK Sound Victoria. Creating connections and allies, trailing a wake of inspired revellers hungry for more.  Primitive’s art and output has been strengthened through many collaborations, and now becoming his core focus, his DJ schedule leaving little time for heading up other projects. Funkier Session #028 - Ferry Funky

Number 29 is up and we've got the wonderful Wilson Frisk providing a sweet mxitape for y'all to enjoy !! 

He hails from Bradford, Yorkshire in the north of England. Like many other Dj's Wilson started his musical journey collecting music as a young teenager doing compilations for his friends. In 1994 Wilson started a music fanzine called 'Jackyard Backoff' with his late friend Chris Stephenson which covered the music scene in the north of England. Around 1995 Wilson became involved with a very successful club night called 'Spice' which was his first stint at Dj'ing playing Broken Beat, Acid Jazz, Hip Hop, Soul and jazz......Wilson has now firmly established himself in the House/Disco scene holding down residencies in Bradford, Leeds and Huddersfield and been involved with infamous club nights such as Back2Funky, Uno House, Our House, Afro Coalition, Way2Funky, Wallop, GYGO and The House Of Phunk. Currently Wilson is one of the Boombox Stereo residents who play at the mighty BeatHearder Festival and part of the 4Playdjs Collective who play at the Solfest Festival in Cumbria. Wilson is also one half Of Uptown Funk along side his musical partner in crime Poco (@uptownfunkin)
.. Wilson is known for his smooth mixing style, taking you on a musical journey dipping in and out of all genres of House music but keeping it in his Jackin', Funky, Disco style that he's renowned for!

Keeping the tradition of doing every 10th session in my mix series myself, here I am with a fresh mix for your ears.
