Funkier 15

I’ve created a new series that I’m calling Funkier 15. The idea is to embrace my tendency as a DJ to jump between tracks quickly by picking a genre, sub-genre, vibe or theme, then cramming as many tracks as I can into a 15 minute video mix as a little bite-sized showcase of that sound. Episode 1 was my beloved P-Funk, and I ended up fitting 12 Parliament/ Funkadelic/ Bootsy/ George Clinton and similar tracks in. I think it worked pretty well and I’ve already recorded Episode 2, so keep an eye out for that dropping soon. I also need ideas for more, so if you’ve got any suggestions for a genre or theme for a future mix let me know in the comments!

Funkier 15 #2 - 15 Minutes of... Fonk!

To celebrate the fact that I’m off to Southport Weekender this weekend, I decided to put together a little minimix of some of the sort of vibes I might be hearing over the weekend. It’s soulful, bumpy house music with lots of funky basslines and skippy US Garage-style percussion. This sort of music nourishes my soul, I hope you like the mix!

After an unwanted hiatus due to general busyness, my Funkier 15 minimix series is back! The premise is simple - taking a genre, theme or vibe and then cramming as many appropriate tracks into quarter of an hour as I possibly can. As it's actual proper summer here in the UK I was inspired to do a mix of sunshine tunes, so this one's made up of tracks that scream summer to me - mixed genres, sunny vibes. Hope you enjoy!
