This time I’ve reworked Night People by the fabulous Etta James, from her 1980 album Changes. It's sped up with a crispy new drumbeat, some little breakdowns... and of course I've given it a bit of spruce up to bring out that lovely bass and let those sassy vocals shine. The 7th in my series of 80s remixes is Superfly Guy by S-Express. It was released in 1988 and reached number 5 in the UK charts. I’ve always wanted to make a remix of this and bring out that dirty synth baseline a bit more. I hope you like it :-)

This month’s freebie is my own version of a track I absolutely love. Most people know The Brothers Johnson for the classic and very good track Stomp, but the true heads among us know that The Real Thing is where it’s really at. The original slaps plenty already with its dramatic strings and falsetto vocal, but I’ve beefed things up a couple of notches and added some breakdowns for dramatic effect. I’m so pleased with how this one has come out, and I’d love for you to download and enjoy. And yes, of course I kept the sax solo!
