It's sped up with a crispy new drumbeat, some little breakdowns... and of course I've given it a bit of spruce up to bring out that lovely bass and let those sassy vocals shine. I’ve been quite busy with life and working on a couple of remixes, and February’s a short month isn’t it? So I’ve only had time to do a cheeky mash up for your free download this month. It’s a marriage of two noughties songs you might not have heard for a while - Dance Wiv Me by Calvin Harris, and Gnarls Barkley’s Crazy. I’ve called it Gnarly Calv, and have laid CeeLo’s unique vocal over Calvin’s groovy melody. It’s straightforward, I’m not sure how well it works, but it’s yours if you want it. Maybe I’m crazy?!

This month’s freebie is my own version of a track I absolutely love. Most people know The Brothers Johnson for the classic and very good track Stomp, but the true heads among us know that The Real Thing is where it’s really at. The original slaps plenty already with its dramatic strings and falsetto vocal, but I’ve beefed things up a couple of notches and added some breakdowns for dramatic effect. I’m so pleased with how this one has come out, and I’d love for you to download and enjoy. And yes, of course I kept the sax solo!

Next up in my free edit series is another one I've loved forever and wanted to work my magic on for ages - Ring My Bell by Anita Ward. This tune’s obviously all about the lame little boopy sound, but I love the jangly guitars and backing vocals too. Standard Funkier treatment of beefing matters somewhat up and rearranging things - I’ve given it a long and gradual build up to the vocal, messed around with the stems a bit and added some percussion and snippy hi hats to create a nearly 7 minute monster. I think it’s turned out pretty well, and I’m inviting you to download it and enjoy it. Go on, help yourself - click the little shopping cart icon and it's yours for nothing :)
