Welcome to 'big hell' or as the Icelanders call it: Stóra Víti. The two heads of Ethereality prove once again they're better than one with three new sonic paintings of dramatically beautiful landscapes. We start off the crater rave in Kerið with its floating chords, delicate-yet-catchy piano hook and the bounciest of basslines. A sweeping vintage synth leads the way on our expedition. Was that an elf? Next we find ourselves on the hot springs mountain that is Hverafjall, where someone seems to have left their hangdrums and horns. Fluttering arpeggios prove a welcome travelling companion to the beefier bass and synth chords, with one of Iceland's famed mythological beasts providing peculiarly pleasant poetry. Before heading home we must check out the sunrise over Bláhylur though. Ethereal soundscapes are sprinkled over its thick bass, with soothing ad libs and string ensembles providing a smooth aesthetic. Like a break in the clouds, a cascading synth arpeggio pierces through, reminiscent of the classics of yesteryear, on a different island far away. But with less puddles.

Renowned electronic music label Kindisch, proudly announces the release of the latest EP titled “What We Waited For” by the talented South African artists Sebee and Casis. The two-track EP encapsulates the duo’s innovative soundscapes and melancholic vibes, marking another significant addition to the label’s esteemed catalog.

Sebastian de Beer, known as Sebee, hails from the City of Gold, Johannesburg. Starting with electronic music production, he ventured into piano, musical theory, classical, and emotive sounds, transforming his initial curiosity into a fervent passion. Sebee’s musical journey saw him make his mark on the South African dance scene with releases on prominent labels like Diynamic Music, Get Physical Music, and Anjunadeep. Sebee previously released his “Borders EP” on Kindisch’s sister label METAPHYSICAL in 2023 and a notable release on Kindisch in 2022.

Casis, also from Johannesburg, partners with Sebee on this EP, bringing a unique blend of musicality and innovation. Together, they create a symbiotic harmony that is both captivating and deeply moving.

The EP opens with the track “Open,” a smooth and sweet Electronica piece that features a strong Moog Bass layered with percussive bell sounds, creating a mesmerizing auditory experience. The second track, “What We Waited For,” explores a melancholic piano theme intertwined with intricate percussive sounds, delivering a profound and emotive listening experience.

El Mundo, with over two decades in the electronic music scene, began as a DJ in Nijmegen in 2002 and soon ventured into music production alongside his collaborator Satori. The two grew into an internationally acclaimed act, but by 2012, El Mundo was ready to explore his solo career. Moving to Berlin, he crafted a sound uniquely his own, and eventually met ZAZOU, leading to a successful partnership, numerous releases, and the founding of his own label, Quetame. El Mundo’s work is known for its deep rhythmic layers and melodic sophistication, marking him as a mainstay of the melodic house and techno scene.
