Amsterdam based Eversines is most definitely one of these artists that is always capable of taking a dancefloor on a proper journey. The Breakfast Club resident and De Lichting label co-founder has a huge amount of sounds to draw upon as his discography will give a massive hint towards. Works on the likes of Twig, Slow Life, his own De Lichting, as well as Kalahari Oyster Club and his album “Dwang” on Ninih being particular personal highlights for us. 

With a sound palette ranging from lush soundscapes, and tight modular grooves, right the way through to the toughest of kicks and outrageous acid lines. This is an ethos that Eversines propels into his DJ sets as well as his live performances, and for an example of the latter check out our coverage of Breakfast Club’s marathon at this year’s ADE where he had The Other Side rocking.

In keeping with this wide array of sounds at his disposal, Eversines has lovingly crafted a near 2 hour trip that treads a deeper path but peppered with moments of peak time action that he regularly dips into. Taking care to slowly build up the pressure, deep analog rhythms are a mainstay while atmospheric techno, proto tech house, and the odd progressive gem is used to punctuate the mood nicely. If you are still undecided what to do this NYD, Breakfast Club will be again presenting a marathon this time to usher in 2024 and Eversines will play b2b with bossman Pieter Jansen.

The very much in demand Dutch producer and DJ Eversines steps up for our 116th Phonica mix with over an hour of his own productions!

If you are just getting on the Eversines train you have missed quite alot of stops but its not too late to catch up. Having released on a wide range of labels like Slow Life, Nous'Klaer Audio and the label he co run's De Lichting; Eversine's (real name Remco Hazewinkel) has been considered an array of styles spanning techy, euphoric and ambient variations of house. These diverse styles has been showcased into his sets; ambient, deepness alongside pulsating acidy bass into pumping driven moments that have caused a sweat and huge clubs and festivals like the recently close De School and Dekmantel. We are delighted to have Remco added to our long running mix series with over an hour of his own productions from start to finish. We had a brief chat with him about the mix below and what he has coming up in the near future. This is Phonica Mix 116 - Eversines.

For the 30th release on Undersound Recordings, we welcome on board Eversines.

“Void Walk” emerged from playful experimentation with gears, resulting in a straightforward, acid-laced tune.  "User Six": Inspired by an earlier live set, features a loop that straddles the lines between house and techno. “Rainy Move” was thought and produced on a rainy day, this track maintains a dreamy and ambiguous atmosphere while retaining a driving house groove.“XP Pattern Test” explores sampling from other instruments, culminating in a dark, closing track with an ominous tone.

Eversines is a producer and DJ residing in Amsterdam. He’s been producing for over a decade, co-runs record label De Lichting and focuses on the energetic yet dreamy side of electronic music.

In 2019 his debut album was put out through Wex Records, after which releases on yeyeh / ninih came forth including a solo outing and a special collaboration with thereminist Carolina Eyck titled ‘Waves’.

De Lichting being a close group of friends and Eversines’ homebase, he’s always a part of the well received double vinyl compilations they put out, and had his debut on Kalahari Oyster Cult in 2020 with ‘Plooi’. He recently released on labels like Animals On Psychedelics, Nous’Klaer and Lonely Planet Records, with more releases in the pipeline for well-respected labels.
