An enjoyable recording session with Ben Slade at Vittoria Wharf Studio's, we drank loads of tea (exciting), long chats about literature, food and life. We treated ourselves with a stack of pancakes in the morning! yumm! There were a few hick-ups during recording, but like the Russian saying “The first pancake is always lumpy”

We recorded the 10th Valentine concert of Julian Jacobson with legendary Ivry Gitlis and the Orchestra Platform Seven, conducted by Julian Jacobson on the Friday 17th February 2012 at the St. James Church, Piccadilly Circus, London, United Kingdom

The orchestra’s name comes from the curious fact that there is no platform 7 at London Bridge station, only platforms 1 to 6 and 8 to 16. Platform Seven is therefore an imaginary, speculative and idealized space for the weary traveller, and in this spirit Platform Seven offer their first concert.

Recorded a wonderful spontaneous venture of Adam Vanni and Avon Terra as they simultaneously on played on 2 separate piano's. After the piano recording we listened to it with closed eyes. Adam immediately started to sing as we soaked up feeling of this piece and I'm so glad that I grabbed a mic to capture this moment!

I have recorded an outstanding concert with the amazing craftmanship of the ‘Talent Unlimited Ensemble’ at St James’s Church.

This is the 1st movement of Fazil Say's "Four Cities" sonata and can be considered as a journey through four cities of Anatolia.

This work has taken its inspiration from Fazil Say's memories and events of his life. Bodrum is well known as a city greatly frequented by tourists which sets it apart from the other locations. These four very different cities with their individual cultures have been selected from the nearly 2000 km wide expanse of Anatolia.

SIVAS
Sivas is a conservative city located in Eastern Anatolia which is known for its large Alevi population. Asik Veysel is an Alevi Ozan (poet) and Fazil Say has been inspired by his song "Sazim" (my saz/ my instrument) in the first part of this work. The movement is concluded on a melancholy tone in imitation of this ethnic instrument.
