I was late to Noisia. My first introduction to them was listening to Outer Edges in 2017. The album (and the deep dive into their discography shortly after) revealed to me that there are levels to this stuff. "Voodoo" always stuck with me as a unique track because it seemed to go against their own style. It proved that they could do something different—simple, if I could call it that—and still remind me that I have so much to learn. So I think this remix captures that. It's my clear homage to one of my favorite bass tracks of all time, and it shows you exactly where I'm at right now.

ALKHEMY’s The Black Hole turns three years-old, and to celebrate, the Brooklyn-based collective has called upon some of the mightiest in the galaxy to create this dance floor-ready compilation. The 27 artists featured on this VA were invited to participate by combining their signature production styles with a Black Hole-inspired twist, to showcase a range of the world’s raviest sounds. Over a third of the participating artists have headlined The Black Hole for their US debut or NY debut, including, Scan 7, Plural (Kukri), Keepsakes, D. Carbone, 138, Axel Picodot and WarinD. Each providing a nostalgic glimpse into their respective journeys through Brooklyn’s favorite galactic rave. The remaining artists have brought forth their own unique sounds, creating an undeniably powerful collection of tracks that will leave a lasting mark on 2019.

The compilation is just as diverse as the dance floors at The Black Hole and as well as the lineups assembled by ALKHEMY. Proudly bringing artists from the US, South America and Europe together. Another example of the power that lays behind unity.

The cover art, which was inspired by the iconic flyers of The Black Hole, who are always put together by Danny Garber, was designed by Detroit legend, Alan Oldham aka DJ T-1000. Being that ALKHEMY’s mission is to highlight diversity in techno, Alan carried on the tradition of The Black Hole’s flyers where people of color and women are showcased in a powerful manner. Keeping the mastering mainly in-house, 80% of the tracks were mastered by ALKHEMY’s Buzzi.
